A decent hotel in the middle of everything like shopping and attractions. Offers free continental breakfast from 6-10 am. It has a decent sized indoor pool. Also has a little gym with 3 treadmills and a few free weights. A few minutes from Busch Gardens and Water Country USA as well as the Jamestown settlement.

The location of the hotel was convenient to shopping and entertainment. That being said, we did do some shopping and unfortunately, I left a shopping bag behind in the room since given the location I did not feel safe leaving items in the car. Upon realizing my error, I immediately called the hotel multiple times to only be confronted with terrible customer service. My items (over $400) worth were NOT found by housekeeping. This is not correct since I do NOT have them. This is theft and untrustworthy to all involved from front desk to housekeeping and lack of response from management. I will be pursuing other avenues to resolve this issue since The Hampton Inn & Suites is not interested in assisting in resolving this issue.

We enjoyed our stay. I would have given it 4.5 stars only because parts of it seemed a little run down. The clerk behind the counter was really friendly and helpful. The beds were good and the rooms were clean. The continental breakfast was better than most.

The location was great and our room was clean. The hotel hasn't been updated, which isn't a big deal but should be noted. The breakfast options were typical of a Hampton Inn and a person was continuously stocking items. The front desk staff was great. A young man was there every evening of our stay and very helpful. The one thing I didn't like was that the elevators were dirty and vandalized with gravity and one of the handrails had been ripped off the wall. The owner should get these items fixed. We had an issue upon check-in. It appeared as though one of the housekeepers was smoking a cigarette while she was cleaning the rooms near the one we had been assigned OR a guest was smoking in a room but the smell was too strong to be just someone smoking in a room. It appeared to be coming from a room where the housekeeper was inside cleaning. We immediately requested a new room and were moved to a different floor and overheard the housekeepers talking about the smoking of cigarettes. I don't understand Spanish well so either they were just talking about the incident or were telling the person who was smoking that we had complained. The front desk informed us upon check-in that housekeeping would not come in the room and that we were to request anything we needed from the front desk. I'm OK with this to a point but my littlest one opened a bag of popcorn and it EXPLODED all over the place and we had to live with the aftermath the entire time we were there because they couldn't come in and vacuum. We picked up everything we could but I almost went to a store to buy a vacuum. It was bottom of the bag bits of popcorn!! So apologies to whoever had to clean that room after we checked out.
