Hi guys, It’s Activist Kaila Pain. I’ve recently interviewed with this salon for a receptionist position to pick up employment because activism doesn’t pay the bills. The owner when interviewed made a statement about my hair and that I wouldn’t be able to get hired at any other salon due to my hair. She then went on this rant about how other black women have came for interviews and she expressed that she didn’t like the way they looked but hired them anyway because they were pretty girls. As a black woman and activist I would like for everyone to know that our hair doesn’t define us. It’s our ability to do the job sufficiently and properly is key. She was pleasant in her delivery but it raised so many red flags 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩. Initially I took the job because I have bills and I’m out of work at this time. However, I had to put on my activism hat and say,”NO”. I decline this position and good look on your candidates who better suite your needs. In my mind it’s irritating of how ignorant people are. But lady… I’ve worked around all types of celebrities with this hair and MAC Cosmetics for 7 years as well. I never until the day of my interview had anyone say to me … you know no other salon will hire you with your hair right!? Girl… yes they will and I’ll show you. However, I will fix the solution to this problem, keep looking for other candidates because it won’t be me. Grand day, Becky with the bad hair 😩😁

The people are very nice and professional and I have been there before but I saw someone new and she was also nice and I like the blonde color she gave me however she didn’t get nearly close enough to my scalp and my roots were noticeable even when she dried it. I will have to get it touched up when I am back in Chicago.
