Patrick Commiskey is awful, in my opinion incompetent and arrogant

I had an appointment yesterday at the Wilmer Eye Institute. I was scheduled with the wrong sub specialty Dr. Every person I saw was exceptionally accommodating to help. I was squeezed into the schedule to be seen in the correct dept, neuro-ophthalmology. I have nothing but an excellent review. What an amazing place, staff and Drs.

Office staff is terrible

If you have all day to sit and wait, then feel free to use this practice. If you expect the practice to be considerate of your scheduled appointment time, then in no way ever use this practice. It is the worst time management I have ever experienced in USA. 9am appt and still waiting at 10:32am.

Yes
There's a Wills Eye in Philadelphia, not associated with Wilmer Eye. It's just as good if not better.
Parking on the street around the hospital is hard. But the hospital do offer garage parking 24 hours.
They start going home at 4 pm.
Take the MARC or Amtrak train from Union Station in DC to Penn Station in Baltimore. As you come out of the station, go left and wait at the bus stop for one of the Johns Hopkins shuttle, and get off at the final stop. Or take a taxi or Uber from the station to Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Park in the Orleans Garage, cross over the bridge, go left at info desk, then right at bridge to original JH Hospital. Wilmer is 1st door on left.
Go through your My Chart if you have already registered and created your account . It's a good way to communicate with your doctor
Wilmer eye institute is the best place to take him. They're world famous and will see what they can do for him
If I have Medicare and pay the excess charges MYSELF, can I receive an outpatient procedure?
I think this is a question for a doctor, rather than Google. Can you get a second opinion from a medical professional?
Please ask a professional, I was a patient who has both eyes which had torn retina's and cataracts. The retina problems could have been a total loss of vision but where caught in time. Both repairs have worked well in my case. I hope you can get help in your case. The people at Wilmer were great for me. Good luck.
Please make sure you are asking qualified persons these questions. In my case I had to have conventional surgery. It has been a long road, both eyes needed the same operations. Both eyes now are better then they have been for a very very long time. The surgery for me was no problem, the recovery was more of the issue, not a problem just a pain, not physical pain. My experience at Wilmer has been as close as possible to perfect as I can say. Before after and follow-up care has been above question. I believe I would be blind or sightless without there care.
No; Glaucoma is not the problem I have.
They will if it is an emergency. I was sent be my eye doctors office with only phone calls.
It's a state run insurance company. I would think they do, but I would advise you to call and ask to be sure.
It took me two weeks from when I called, shorter than I expected.
Medicare; yes. Tricare ?
How do you know it's a parasite problem? Call and make an appointment with an expert to find out for sure.
Yes they do!
Yes, the Wilmer Clinic has wonderful opthalmologists. Early treatment of iritis, which is inflammation of the iris, is essential to healing. Failure to treat can result in blindness.
Mine have been successes. At yesterday's 3rd post-operation exam, my surgeon told me that my eyes are beautiful!
Call for appointment. In my case, it was the common problem of wrinkling of the back of the capsule in which the interocular lens is implanted. A 15 minute treatment with a surgical laser and the blurring and dimming is gone. Any modern office of an opthalmic surgeon can diagnose this condition and perform the proper laser surgery correction. You shouldn't have to go to the huge Johns Hopkins or such gigantic establishments. I had mine done on Main Street in Laurel, MD, at Dr. Grundy's fine small but well equipped office.
I do not know I work there
Not possible.
What happened?
The
The Caroline Street Garage is the easiest place. Just park then walk across the sky bridge into Hopkins.
I had a pytergium for 20years. Gp to Wills Eye in Philly. They have a surgery to make it has a less than 10% reaccurance. They are lovely people and they will treat you very well.
