Positive: Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Great breakfast. Negative: The bathroom floor had not been cleaned. There was lots of hair on the floor which was also very sticky.

Our stay at the Allen Holiday Inn was ok, but will not stay here again. The housekeeping ladies were awesome and helpful and room was nice. Only good things from staying here. Water was either freezing cold or scolding hot. Could not regulate shower water so had to use freezing water. The front desk lady (thin, Anglo-American lady) was super rude. I will not stay here again because of the way she treated me. She needs to be trained to deal with customers. If she doesn't like her job then she shouldn't be here! I called about 1pm and asked what was the earliest we could check in. She said 2:45..regular check in is 3. Ok, we got there about 2:37 and I asked her to please check if the room was available to check in at 2:45. She looks at me and says in a rude tone that check in is 3. So I stood there and asked her again to please check. She ignores my request while I'm just standing there. She then looks at me and says yes?? I asked her again to please check..She then proceeded to tell me well look at the wall it has a sign that says 3. I told her I understood what the wall said, but I had called in and she said 2:45. Well she leaves me standing there with no acknowledgement or anything. A housekeeping lady comes and asks if I was already given my room because it has been ready. I am like no, the receptionist is just ignoring the fact that I am standing here. I asked the receptionist AGAIN and she says she is too busy doing something else. I was very irritated with her unprofessionalism and rudeness. At 3 when we were finally able to check in she didn't even say "Thank you" "Have a nice day" nothing..This was at check in and check out. The hotel housekeeping and room were nice, but I will NEVER NEVER stay here again. It seems that I was bothering her at the time of checking. Please go spend your hard earned money somewhere else not here. It's not worth staying here and getting treated like you are not valuable to them.

Normally don't care to write reviews for hotels but I was fairly impressed. The room was crazy spacious and at the price, very cheap and high value. When we walked in it was hot like a sauna but the AC worked to cool it down pretty speedily. Front desk was kind, nothing special to report. First floor had everything including a fair fitness center. Location was decent with a fair bit of shops and restaurants close by. We stayed for an event at the Allen Event Center but the nearby surroundings were solid. Breakfast is provided so that's cool. It's nothing special but it's included in the cheap price already. Unfortunately, pools are outdoors and often closed (closed on our visit) whereas other hotels have outdoor pools and jacuzzis that remain open. The main complaint is that the shower drain is annoying to deal with and extremely slow. Each shower my feet will be submerged in soapy water as I'm ready to leave so I take extra time to wait for water to drain before rinsing off finally. It was a bigger deal than you might imagine (at least to me), but great service, cleanliness, and overall positive impression puts the hotel at 4.

It was a very fast, easy check-in process. The hotel room was clean, comfortable and modern. The staff was friendly and responsive to my needs. The breakfast was high quality food and free with my stay. I highly recommend this property!
