I lived at Ten01 in a 1 bedroom appartment from June 2021 through May 2022. Mark Taylor management took over around March 2022 and really went above and beyond to keep me happy; especially Zach. As my lease would be expiring at a time of rapidly rising rates in Phoenix I decided to look for a cheaper place. I finally decided to move to Tucson but my lease was almost up when I made that decision. Zach offered that I could stay beyond the end of my lease with no increase in rent if I needed more time to transition. They had already leased the apartment but could accommodate me for a couple of additional weeks. I didn't need the extra time but it was a nice gesture. In Tucson I was waiting for my final bill from Ten01 to arrive and to my surprise I actually got some money back from my $500 deposit! Just some charges for the final utility bill and rent for 1 week in June but no maintenance or clean up charges at all. I enjoyed my stay at Ten01 and the walkway along the lake is really beautiful. I would take a stroll a couple of times each day to get away from my work from home desk. The apartment complex was surprisingly quiet considereing it is so close to ASU.

I really wanted to give Ten01 a better review but I had issues with my unit that make giving a higher rating not possible. Let me start with the good. The new management has been great, much better than previous ones. They are constantly improving the complex, new garage lights, repainting, replacing torn awnings, etc... Location is great and the amenities are what you'd expect. I liked having places to eat nearby and direct access to Tempe Town Lake was awesome. I did enjoy living here during my two years. Now for the reason why this is three stars and not four stars. My unit was on the 4th floor and faced west. It also had a very large window, you might see where I'm going. In the summers, during the day, my living room would be 85 degrees and the loft would regularly hit 95+. This was with the air running 20 hours a day and with a portable AC in the loft. I even had solar curtains on all of my windows, where possible, and used thick blankets to isolate my loft from the rest of the living areas. My electricity bills would be over $350 dollars in the summer. I'd be okay with the high bill, if it was cool in my apartment. At nights it might get down to 79, but that was at the thermostat and not the temp in the bedroom. The AC did work and when I brought it up to maintenance they said "This is just a hot unit". Make sure to tour your unit, if possible, during the day and be aware of the direction your unit is facing. Not everyone will experience this issue and it's a non issue in the winter. I do feel bad for whoever gets my old unit.
