My husband has regularly given blood at work, church, one blood all over the country for years. This morning we arrived for his scheduled appt. a bit early and he was turned away again. We understand rules, his heart rate slightly over 100 when he asked if he could sit for a few moments and be retested, the tech abruptly told him no. This is the second time this has happened with this person. My husband has O+ blood, most places so happy for him to donate. We drive 15 mi one way to give❤just saying. I think we'll find a kinder place to to give.

So ... what are you waiting for? I know you are thinking about it. Donate! As a longtime platelet donor, the staff is conscientious, courteous, and caring. In other words, exceptional. A welcoming hello and smile is always there! If you have never donated blood or platelets, please, please, please consider doing so. You’ll be helping your neighbor or a friend you haven’t met, often going through some pretty challenging stuff. Thanks for donating!

My wife and I have been coming to this location for about a year now. We always make appointments so we can guarantee our spaces for platelet donations. We love the warm welcome Marie and Fernando always give us. They both take such great care of us and make us feel like such big parts of the community.

Questions & Answers

Do they pay you for your plasma

OneBlood | Dec 31, 2021

Hello Maisha! OneBlood is a not-for-profit organization and regulated by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Volunteer donors remain the only source of blood for patients in need. FDA regulations prohibit blood centers from paying donors for their lifesaving donations. However, it is common for us to recognize donors by offering special promotional items such as t-shirts, coupons, discount tickets or gift cards. The availability of these items may change or may not always be available to donors depending on the specific promotion or location.
