Don’t go here if you have a deductible because it’s classified as the Reading hospital which it is not a hospital it is a lab so insurances charge you the same as an emergency room visit

I walked in the office at 6:30am. Waiting room was empty. I was told by rude receptionist they needed to take appts. first. One lady walked in who had an appt. They took her back. I asked how long the wait would be and was told "didn't know" Then a male phlebotomist came out and yelled "NEXT!" The receptionist proceeded to tell him I didn't have an appt. He takes me back t the exam room. I hand him my lab slip and begins typing asking me if I had ever been there. I told him yes but I couldn't recall how long ago. He tells me I was not in their system and then asks for my Social Security Number. He types it in twice while shaking his head and then tells me "NOPE, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON' He never asked me to verify my DOB or address... NOTHING. I asked him if the last name of this "completely different person was..******" He says "yes". I said "Oh that is me." He asked "did you change your name?" I proceeded to tell him "Yes I got married a few years ago." He raised his voice and said "WELL YOU DIDN'T TELL ME THAT!" I responded with "YOU DIDNT ASK!" He said a completely different person came up. ummm the first name was the same! Why wouldn't he have asked me to verify my DOB and ask me "Is there another last name you have used?" So when I told him I got married he said "WELL THEN THAT IS THE PROBLEM." I stood up and grabbed my lab slip and said "No Thank you" and walked out. He yelled out into the waiting room as I was leaving "I am trying to help you!" I proceeded to go to a Penn State Health lab where they greeted me with smiles and were very friendly. When I shared my experience with the phlebotomist there she described the man to me (very large man with tattoos on both arms..yup) and informed me she used to work for Reading Hospital/Tower Health and trained him. I learned his name was Brendan. She stated she informed him when training that he would have to tone down his demeaner. Apparently he has not. This man was very rude and annoyed to have to do his job. No way was he going to stick my arm. S

I was here this past week and there’s an imaging tech that is horrible!!!!! I didn’t get her name but she’s Caucasian, sorta tall, and has long brown hair. This chick’s attitude was the worse. In the middle of my ultrasound I told her I didn’t like her attitude. All her responses when I talked to her or asked her a question were condescending and rude. Her energy and aura were all negative. During my ultrasound I told her not to touch me any longer. I got up and walked out. I told the lady up front about the technician’s nasty attitude. I called and reported how rude she was to the patient advocate department. The technician’s boss called me the next day and I told her what happened. Be mindful of who is touching your belly during this intimate/vulnerable time. Whether if you’re pregnant or not. I didn’t want her negative energy on me. Which is why I got up and walked out. This girl needs a vacation, go and regroup, or get another job!!! Who knows who else she’s been rude or nasty to. The way she treats patients/ customers is unacceptable!!!

This lab is only about a mile from my house, so I always use it. Friendly staff, clean, lots of parking, usually very short wait
