I was very disappointed to be told I couldn't donate because I asked if there was a senior phlebotomist on the floor. I have been donating at different centers for over 5 years with zero issues. I returned to BioLife after 6 months so I required a new physical. During the physical I asked if there was a senior phlebotomist on the floor because I was previously innervated and I wanted to make sure someone with slightly more experience would be able to do my needle stick. The nurse; Doris, immediately responded with telling me all of their staff were experienced and then she continued to say I would not be able to donate because I had sniffed in her presence. I told her I have chronic allergies for which I take medication for that they have on file. I pointed out that I'm not congested and that I only sniffed once which Is not uncommon. I also told her this has never been an issue with any facility I've donated at including BioLife. She was clearly upset with me and I asked to speak with a center manager because this only came about after I asked about the staffing on their floor. He of course said that he could not override her decision even though I explained it was directly related to me requesting a senior phlebotomist. I asked if I could speak with their general manager and he told me no. I am dissatisfied with the customer service as well as the retaliatory practices permitted by their staff. **Edited to Respond** I sent you an email at your contact on the website the same day I posted my review. Been coming for over 100 donations and things continue to go downhill. The place is improperly managed and it shows on workers faces and body language. Add to which, they’re consistently understaffed leading to extraordinary delays that inevitably inconveniencing. I couldn’t honestly refer anyone in good conscience.

The hours are shorter than any other center I've been to. It makes it really difficult to get an appointment. As a result I've missed out on second (the higher paying) donations and I tend to skip weeks of donations just to be sure I can get two visits in one week. Everyone who works there has been really nice. Some visits feel like they have taken a lot longer than they used to. Usually that's because there's a long wait for a bed. I really hope they expand the hours soon because I would like to get more appointments. Overall not a bad place and I will keep going.

You can donate twice every 7 days, but need at least one day in between your two donations. The easiest thing to do is pick two days and donate those same two days each week (every Tuesday and Thursday for example). Please feel free to contact your local center for further information.

It depends on the center location, if you are on a new donor coupon or any other coupon. Regular pay at my center in Texas is $20 1st donation of week and $75 2nd donation of the week. You. An only donate twice in a 7 day period.
Hello Gloria-Your first visit will include a physical with one of our nurses and an extended medical questionnaire, plus your donation. This will most likely take 3-4 hours. After that first visit, your total time will take around 2 hours for a donation.Thank you!
