Everyone here was helpful.. I know it gets overwhelming dealing with the public. I can’t ever say I had lack of assistance from the staff here. My only complaint is to obtain a permit, the process is quite absurd..

I have spoken to the Land Use Department multiple times in reference to questions about my property. Each time I have called, they have been extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and was able to provide wine with the documentation I needed in a very timely manner. They work hard to help citizens with any questions they may have!

Generally your property needs to be zoned A-1 (agricultural) with 10 acres to have a mobile home on it in unincorporated Will County.
In unincorporated Will County a permit is needed for window replacements. You will need to submit a permit application and list a valid contractor. If you own the home and live in it as your primary residence, you may list yourself as the contractor if you will be doing the work yourself or with the help of unpaid family and friends.
In unincorporated Will County you will need to have an A-1 zoned property with 10 acres to have a mobile home. A mobile home cannot be placed on a property that already has a residence unless it is for ECHO (elder cottage housing opportunity.)
Unfortunately you cannot. Your property must be 10 acres and zoned A-1 for a mobile home.
Yes, a roof replacement requires a permit. You may apply online at willcountylanduse.com or you can apply in the office. You will need to complete a permit application and let them know who will be doing the work.
Yes
Yes, but some services may be curtailed. There will permits issued, though. Obscure questions may not be answered immediately.
Willcountygreen.com has a list of locations that you can recycle various items at.
I recommend calling the Land Use Department to gain more information. If there is a culvert, you will more than likely need to talk to the highway department.
