I've been living here for more than 6 months and I'm experiencing a pretty good life at G4. G4 is one of the best apartment options in Minneapolis for everyone, especially for students, postdocs, and workers at the U of M. - Perfect location -- Just 2 railway stations away from the East Bank of U of M. -- Fresh Thyme market (grocery, normally closes at 11 pm): It only takes less than 1 min by walk from our apartments. -- Entertainment: Malcolm market, Surly brewery, and Nice whiskey bar (O'Shaughnessy Distilling Co.): Just 1 to 5 mins away from G4 by walk. -- Also, one of the safest areas in Minneapolis. - Great Staff -- Stevie: she's such a professional apartment manager. -- Katy: she can solve any kind of issue during your stay. Also she's super friendly and professional. -- Ryan & Maintenance team: they are super fast and know how to fix everything in G4. - Utility -- Gym & yoga room: you don't have to register at other Gyms. -- Coffee machine: sometimes it's out of order but maintained very well even it is free. -- Package room: with Luxer one, you will not miss your packages. -- Roof top barbecue: one of the best options like this summer season.

If I could rate them 6 stars I would. I was skeptical applying here because of the other reviews. They have an overnight officer now that is a great piece of mind. I rarely hear neighbors and outside noise, I would say it's a decently quiet community. They have a maintainance guarantee and have to address issues within 72 hours...what????? I've never had an apartment complex that cared like that. The office staff was so great during my entire application. They were available to answer any questions and concerns I had. My move in day was so smooth compared to my last place. They had a nice gift waiting for me filled with apartment essentials, they walked me to my apartment, they went through my move in folder to answer my questions. They really took the care and time to make sure I was satisfied with everything.Their front desk is always there to answer questions, and they have the cutest treat jar always filled for the dogs in the building. They even have a cleaning staff that I see almost every day cleaning the game room and lounge room etc. Ugh I just highly recommend!!

My update: Under the new management, Green on 4th has really turned it around. The manager, Stevie, is really great at making sure guests are comfortable and their needs are met. There is no longer any loud music playing in the court yards or lobby, so it has been nice and quiet when I work from home. They also really stepped up their security and even have a night manager at the front desk now which makes me feel much safer and to my knowledge there hasn't been a garage break-in in the last year. Post from last year: I wouldn't recommend Green on 4th. At first, I really liked it, but there have been multiple encounters/incidences that make me wish I would have gone a different route with my housing decision. My most recent negative encounter was with the community manager (unsure of his name, sorry). He was rude, condescending, and just generally unkind. On short notice, we were required to remove our cars from the garage for cleaning. Being out of town, this isn't feasible, and he was unable to work with me to find a solution. So I will be towed from the lot that costs a small fortune to park in anyways. If you are looking for a quiet place to live, I wouldn't recommend this building. If you have an apartment facing the courtyard the apartment complex often plays loud music in the outdoor seating area. I have asked for it to be turned down when no one is sitting out there (especially in the winter)-with no success multiple times. Apparently they cannot play music in the lobby without playing it loudly outside. So it's rarely quiet in my apartment - not because of my neighbors, but due to the staff playing music. I work from home during the pandemic, so I have defaulted to playing white noise through my headphones to drown it out. Very frustrating. This building has had multiple break-ins in the short time I have been here. My moped had its ignition drilled out in an attempted theft while in the garage here. Multiple people have had their cars broken into. They were not able to find who did it because there are no security cameras in the garage. I do not feel safe in the garage because this has happened a handful of times. Not sure how a person drilling out parts of vehicles went completely unnoticed, but they did. Parking costs $120/month + the cost of fixing a moped + price I will pay when my car is towed in a few days (apparently there is nothing they can do to help with that). It all really adds up fast. Overall, I'm disappointed because I really thought I was going to like it here at first. The staff acts like they want to help you and even offer a suggestion box. But when you actually ask them to do things like turn the music down or not tow your car, they are not understanding at all. Pros: the gym is nice, there's a coffee machine in the lobby, the maintenance team is very friendly and prompt, the apartment is nice.
