Usually, the Hyde Park post office is great with helpful, friendly people. Sometimes they're really understaffed, though, and the wait can be 15+ minutes, especially during the holidays. Often hard to guess if a trip there is going to take 3 minutes or 20 minutes.

There's no lot so I've always parked on the street right in front of or right across from the office. There are meters but I've never paid them because it's only ever taken a few minutes to get in and out of the post office
Its a small office with minimal staff, so it's possible there actually is no one available to take a call.
