Came here for my N400 interview less than a week ago. I got to the building 25 minutes before my appointment and was crestfallen when I saw the how long the line was. I went to the back of the line and started getting nervous that I would miss my appointment. After 5 minutes of internal panic while in line, I started to ask the people in front of me what time their appointments were. Almost all of them had appointments in the afternoon and were just in line super early. So I decided to go towards the front of the line and overheard the guard at the door was turning people away whose appointments were later in the day. After hearing that, I went straight to the front and showed the guard my appointment letter and he swiftly let me in the building. The staff at this building are excellent, friendly and encouraging. From the security guard at the entrance checking appointment letters, to the guards running the metal detectors (way friendlier than TSA, lol), to the woman running the front desk on the 3rd floor. Every step of the way I was wished with a “good luck” and even complimented me on my ‘fit (from both men and women and never came off as creepy). Their positive attitude was very much appreciated and put me at ease. What kind a kind staff. 10/10 I had a 10AM appointment and checked in about 15 minutes early at the front desk. My officer came out a few minutes before 10 and called my name. She was polite, professional and direct. Not warm and friendly, but not mean or intimidating either. One thing I recommend is to study your N400 application in addition to the civics questions. She saw in my application that both my parents were naturalized. She asked for the date they were naturalized, which took me by surprise. I knew the month and day because it coincides with my nephew’s birthday. I guessed on the year. She didn’t indicate whether or not I answered correctly, she just quickly moved on. (Later, after the interview, I checked and I did answer correctly). The other questions about me and the application were very easy (are you a part of a terrorist organization, have your ever had weapons training, etc.) Then she slid over a piece of paper to me on the desk. She pointed to a checked box saying that I was recommended for approval. Then pointed to another box that said to expect an oath ceremony to be scheduled within 6 weeks. It was over so fast (less than 20 minutes) that I was a little in disbelief and didn’t totally understand what just happened. I asked her if I was approved APPROVED. And she said yes and she congratulated me. At which point I broke out in tears. I thanked her and as she guided me out she was much more friendly and seemed happy for me. She also complimented me on my outfit, lol. I’ll never forget that feeling of realizing that I would become an American after 32 years. On my way out, I must have been beaming because the staff congratulated me as I was exiting. Terrific experience overall and everyone I encountered were professional, courteous and friendly.

I am impressed by this facility. Everybody is cordial and professional. Officer Roxas was extremely nice and professional. The process was easy, fast and painless

The officers are great once you get inside and get your interview underway, but you have to wait outside the main doors if you arrive more than 15 minutes before your appointment. That is quiet cumbersome if you live 2 hours away or it is a typical cold Chicago morning. No restroom outside in the non-waiting lounge (the street with spill over) is painful, if you are a diabetic or have to get to a restroom!

Your question is too broad. You'd need to specify on what grounds is your friend obtaining an LPR status.
Yes
Hello, if you could take it? Tell me
There is to many parking around the building .
You need to be more specific about what you applied for. If it's greed card, citizenship, etc. Through most processes you will have a portal at "my uscic gov" (note that there should be a dot between the words instead of the space, but since it's against Google Maps guidelines to write an http address I'm writing it that way). In the portal you can see letters that were sent to you through regular mail. Hope that helps.
The staff are kind and friendly and kind especially officers
It is not necessary
She will need to move her travel plans. Passports take a few weeks.
You would need to be a 100% sure (not just "think") in order to avoid discriminatory actions based on race/ethnicity/nationality or country of origin. Also, there are immigrant and non immigrant visas that allow foreign residents to work in the United States.
Yes, you stilk needbti apply for a passport under you temporary Card or Green Card... Gonna any ICE ot post office, with all you info and apply...for a passport...then you are good..
Yes. Just bring documents regarding your case when you arrive to our location.
Yes it is, Bert.
If you mean interview date, yes. Have them go online to reschedule.
Has she applied for an advance parole document? If not then you should apply for an emergency advance parole and get an appointment at the USCIS field office with all the evidence of the emergency.
No. You will have to call in for an appointment and get a ‘Infopass’ of sorts and they will give you a time and date to go in. You cannot arrive over 15 min before your appointment else you will be made to wait outside the main doors.
You have to find a local notary in your area. You can find a notary at your bank or credit union or some ups stores. If you were going to the office directly you do not need to notarize.
First u need to call them to make sure the process now . Or Log in their website. If is a long wait for green card , my friends they waited for like over 1 1.5year , mine was about 1 Year.
Yes once you get appointment
They're really backed up, so just wait.
You should at least try if you're not able to get an infopass.
Hello Yare, the green card can take a year or a year and a half to arrive. Depending on USCIS.
Why don’t you do your citizenship?
no 1 ask me on 23rd..I don't think so
Currently notification usually takes between 4 to 6 weeks
Follow N400 instructions posted on uscis.gov
It can be over 2 months. I sent an application in January and recieved a receipt number first week ok april.
HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO TAKE THE CITIZENSHIP TEST IN SPANISH IN CHICAAGO IMMIGRATION OFFICE
No you must have an appointment otherwise you will not be allowed in the building. They will ask you covid questions before entering, they take your temperature. Avoid going in there by yourself, hire an attorney go only with him/her. Do not go by yourself, you can get into legal trouble, because they think you are trying to get legal advice without counsel.
No. They won't let them in. I went with my dad and they only let him in before 15 minutes to his interview. We were standing outside for 2hrs. They are so strict they won't even let you use the restroom.
Depends what you want an appointment for.
Yes
Original document is the only valid proof of Naturalization.
No parking at the facility. There's a paid parking lot across the street.
This is a field office, it handles immigration benefits cases, this is not a visa center. You'll need to be more specific with your question. But, if to assume I understood your question correctly, then no, there's no such thing as a formal invitation, unless you file for a fiancé visa, then you'll have to attach a letter of intent to marry your boyfriend once he arrives to the US. Otherwise, it would be a visitor visa for him, no need for any special letters. He will need to be honest about his reasons for entering the US though.
He needs a valid passport from his original country and the expired green card and he needs to schedule an appointment then they stamp extension for his residency to his passport and he can keep doing this till he get the certificate of citizenship
Yes, they have restarted oath ceremonies. My wife just had hers a few days ago. Only the person taking the oath is currently allowed in. A translator or assistant for those with a disability is allowed to accompany, but no guests are allowed. You will get a letter with the details for the oath ceremony once they have scheduled yours.
All interviews, appointments, and ceremonies are Canceled to the best of my knowledge
Each case is different
You might bre screwed
Sorry to hear that. You can see this page for the process of replacing Green card. https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/after-green-card-granted/replace-a-green-card
Yes I know that, but someone that helps you fill it out if you don't know how.
As far as I know you can apply for passport/passport card the same day as your oath ceremony in the same building, I think the post office is on a 8th or 9th floor. They do have something like urgent shipment when you prove that you go out of country, so take your travel tickets just in case. And I'd course it will cost more $$$ but I know people who got their passports 2 days after they applied.
Yes. I agree with Oksana. The 800 number is for someone answering questions. Thank you.
Yes
Yes, you can do it online I believe.
At least a month, could be much longer sometimes.
You need to book it online on their website.
You can bring your mobile phone but you will have put your bag through an x ray machine as you go through Security.
No - immigration - USCIS - is open
$725 US dollars just for the application. Office fees are different if you are not filling it out.
You can either go on their website to check if you have a receipt number and A number. If you have time you can go online and make a go pass appointment to ask your question to an officer at the express windows. Hope this helps. I'm a spanish interpreter contracted by people to go for their interviews.
Which way are you coming???? 57 go north you will run unto it...290 East follow to tge front door. It dead ends there just keep going until u see the building on the right.. just go under bith the post office and. The,. Stock exchange. On Right...
There is a passport place on the 9th FL of 101 W. Congress Parkway. Normally you should have had your passport processed unless they found some problems. Just call or come to the USCIS OFFICE n ask for info n explain what happened.
You can get what they call an advanced parole. It allows you to re enter US after returning from another country. It's for non citizens who are waiting on visas. It's good for one year. You can get more info on the USCIS website or when you visit the USCIS office.
Yes, Parking on Clark$13.00 and rthe other is on Harrison. $15.00
As far as O know thye are open
My green card expired April 26 2022
I lost mine too ,but Uscis will issue temporary one year visa that would allow her to fly in and out.
You need to schedule an appointment for ceremony. No appointment needed to stop by and ask questions.
Ask immigration lawyer. Reviews on maps wrong spot to find an answer.
