The behavior and attitude of the people in the consulate is completely different from what it was before and it is a great pleasure to go there now. Consul Trifan is the only consul I have seen all the time at all community events regardless of buserica or group. I hope that we will have consul Trifan for a long time

Although the procedures are a bit outdated, overall the experience related to renewing the passport was a positive one. I gave only 4 stars because payment is only made in cash (and fixed), and those who want their passport sent by post (probably most cases, in a country as large as a continent) must bring a pre-paid envelope, with tracking, (which would not necessarily be a problem, only that neither of these two things is mentioned on the website or in the confirmation email, resulting in extra running on the day of the appointment). What can I say? I felt at home. The positive side: the kindness of the consul ladies (whom I want to thank) and the fact that the passport was sent much faster than I expected.

Yes, things changed. Going by appointments now.
Check econsulat.ro
Romania has bilateral relations with the US and you do not need a visa to enter Romania as long as you stay in Romania up to 90 days and your passport (US) is valid beyond 6 months. However if you are a Romanian citizen and you have a Romanian passport as Romania is a member state of the EU you can enter Romania under your passport from Romania and remain in Romania indefinitely.
You can schedule an appointment online at econsulat.ro I did it like that and basically I was in and out. Very very nice and friendly the ladies over there
You don't need one. Just show up
It depends on the service. try on their portal econsulat.ro
Put together all the documents in a file and make an appointment at USA embassy if you are in Romania .Would be great if you contact a Immigration lawyer too.
Sorry My I'm Romanian driver license?????
If you were born in romania and have a romanian birth certificate than you are a romanian citizen. You can apply for a romanian passport if you want....
Yes, just like Mrs. Malureanu said.
Appointment at www.econsulat.ro only. Make the account, request, upload the documents, then wait for the confirmation date. Don't visit the consulate before as you're waist your time.
Hello, if you go to econsulat.ro and create your account you can ask for a travel title you present yourself at the embassy and in a few minutes it is ready and is valid if I don't cheat 1 month I hope to help you
Yes, they will ask about appointment. Use this site to create an account and create a new request. https://www.econsulat.ro/Account/Login

Search on Google Romanian Consulate General Chicago. They have posted the schedule on their website
Check the website of Consulate General of Romania where it explains what to do for each consular service and how much each costs
Check the Romanian General Consulate website
If you settle in Romania, you will not lose your American citizenship. In connection with the pension you will have to contact the Social security administration. The consulate has no competence in this matter.
I call on several occasions and nobody answered!
Thanks a lot !
Correct. The pictures are taken at the consulate. All details can be found online. Important: appointment at the consulate is done online.
Yes. There is parking inside the building and ask the consulate for a discount coupon.
Romania has bilateral relations with the United States and therefore as long as you have a valid US passport valid beyond 6months you can enter Romania up to 90 days without a visa. If you remain in Romania after 90 days you need to apply for a temporary residency permit which can only be done in Romania. The embassy in Chicago or Washington DC will tell you the same information. Go to Ministerul Afacerilor Externe (ministry of foreign affairs) www.mae.ro for more info
Present yourself at the consulate with your own bulletin and the data of the person you want to empower. The ladies there will help you with which forms to fill in.
GreenCard holder in the US? Visa requirements depend of country of origin. So if are born in the EU then you are covered under the European passport. Again depends on your actual citizenship.
