I love Chinati, but it isn't the same amazing place it used to be. The rooms are way too expensive for what you don't get, like a shower or access to a private bath. Because my room didn't have its own tub, the only way I had to clean up was in the community tub outside. I wanted a private bath, to wash my hair, and I miss the big private tub rooms.

So relaxing!! The community kitchen has everything you need, just bring food. There are firepits, bring or buy wood. Love that there was no cell reception or wifi. Great getaway!

Great place to spend with family and friends. The hot spring is set in a natural setting and a great place to relax. I drove to the spring via Pinto Canyon from Marfa. I highly recommend the drive if your familiar off-roading or have motorcycle. The shared kitchen created many opportunities to meet other travelers.

Rene was super accommodating when we arrived after 11pm. He gave us a full tour, he answered all our questions, but gave us all the privacy we wanted. We brought our dog, which was totally chill. The hot springs were hot even on a frigid night. We stayed in El Patron, which had the charm of looking up at the stars while in a private tub. A fantastic experience, especially for the price. I think the El Presidente room with the indoor tub would have been a better choice on a freezing night, but I may be splitting hairs. They both are great rooms. The shared kitchen had ample tools and space for cooking a full dinner. Aside from the springs, there were fun hiking trails connected to the property and the overall environment reminded me of the rugged solitude of Big Bend National Park. The directions we received from the website were a little shotty and could have used more details, especially while arriving at night. The outdoor shower in El Patron fed from the hot spring was not warm enough for our use. Hence, 4 out of 5 stars. All that being said, this place is a true gem. We were hosted warmly by the staff and will be back again.

I stayed there last week and it was $25 per person per night. Incl access to the pools and use of an awesome community kitchen. Great stay!
