I had a pretty painless experience replacing my social security card. There were only a few people ahead of me for service so the whole experience didn't take very long.

They have you wait in the entrance so if your handicapped bring something to sit on cause the guard will not accommodate you. Actually I thought the guard was kinda rude so I ended up leaving and not taking care of my business

On phone and waited another hour. That's 2 1/2 hours and no one answered. Glad my time means nothing. Terrible service

Was on the phone for an hour waiting. There phones are breaking up. It is not my phone that is the issue and now they want me to call back and wait another hour. They said up to 6 months for disability application and we are month 7 with no call! Horrible office to work with! They sure love to hang up on people! A joke for workers. You think they could hire people who actually want to do there job! I never write reviews but WOW! Seriously!

LOL, That Is What I Am Trynna Figure Out!!!, I Can't Get Replacement License,& Or State ID W/O SS Card., & It Seems Ya Cannot do That Neither, W/O A Darn ID, Now What In The H..?!, I Believe that If You Have Given the Local Offices Proof Of Your Identity Before, In The past, Etc., I Believe I Read that they Said All You Will Need to Do, Is Just Come In, & Know Your SS #. You can visit ssa.gov and either log into mysocialsecurity or create an account. There you will find an option to view or print your verification letter.
I know some that do, so it must be yes.
Now you can actually go into the office. You'll need I'd, birth certificate

I'm not on disability it self, so wheather you can work while on disability I don't know, you will have to ask social security about that one.

It depends on your child's age. 5 and under you can use birth certificate and official shot records. But if the child is between the ages of 6-17 you will need school transcripts, or a doctor exam record, if the child has a school id that is acceptable as well. And you will need to provide your ID too..
I walked into the Pekin office, signed in via a user friendly touch screen in lobby. I was then issued a number and spoke to a rep when my number was called.
Pekin office probably dropped the ball. They don't care. Not at all
