Great resort in Gary, SD about an hour away from Sioux falls. An absolutely cute restaurant and bar with inexpensive food and drinks.

Andy is very rude and obviously didn't want our business. We were in Gary for a reunion and decided to not stay at the hotel because he was so rude and I'm not giving him my money to disrespect my family. The new owner has ruined this annual trip for us. I was born here and many of my family live here. I just booked a hotel in Watertown for an event in Gary tomorrow.

I am normally not one to vent but I was pretty disappointed and frustrated. I won the top bid a gift card for the Buffalo Ridge Resort, Gary SD, at the Hospice Auction last year. With COVID I hadn’t used yet and didn’t see it had an expiration on it. I said to my husband it would be perfect to use it on our way home from the hills so I called to make reservations for a queen room and said I had a gift card. So after driving 7 hours I was checking in and presented the card- the attendant said “can’t take, expired”…….the room is $139.00, I said there isn’t an expiration date on it, when did it expire - he said- it is no good, I again asked when did it expire and then he asked me to not be rude and please leave. So we were UNABLE to stay and UNABLE to give a good review☹️😡

Day 1 = amazing! Day 5 = insanely amazing! Are you kidding me?!?! This place (in small town SD, pop 226) is absolutely amazing and one of the best kept secrets in America!! Andy and his family - new owners, are amazing people and know how to treat their guests. Also, his cook Tomas and one of his employees, Kyler - are exceptionally hard workers and made our trip even more memorable than we could imagine. The resort/accommodations are perfect and then ,,,,,,,,, the food at the restaurant ,,,, WOW!! I thought we were eating at the most expensive restaurants in some of the biggest cities!! We tried to taste as many things on the menu as possible and each time we just paused and said WOW!! And the prices ,,,,, Are you kidding me?!?! Very reasonable, which they have to be because they are in rural America, so we just tipped a lot!!
