Despite their website specifically saying they take ripped/torn textiles for recycling, when I got there with my car loaded up they said they would only take clothing suitable for resale at thrift stores

One of your drivers in a large truck made a left turn on 30th in Boulder today and cut across my wives car who had the right of way. She had to slam on her brakes to let your driver finish his manouver. Very dangerous driving and almost caused a bad accident.

The new covered area is really nice, they don't seem to have as much stuff as they used to but better organized.

Always great customer service!

It's definitely a drag to pay to dispose of things, but the alternative is to increase taxes on everyone to operate the facility. Besides, unless you're getting rid of a giant CRT it's usually only a couple of dollars anyway.
Great answer, Matt!! Just as a quick note, as of February 1st, 2018, all other electronics, including audio equipment, mobile phones, fax machines or any other item with a battery or cord are now $0.49/lb
Hey Jan! Yes, we recycle computers! They are disassembled on-site by our partners, Blue Star Recyclers! If it is a desktop computer, the monitor costs $0.59/lb to recycle, and the computer tower itself is free of charge. If you have a laptop to recycle, there is no charge. We do not, but our next door neighbors at ReSource Central does! Thay have a truck service where they pick up materials that are used, but could be reused! You can schedule a pickup with them at: https://resourcecentral.org/prequalifying-material-donations/. There is also a phone number on that site if you'd like to give them a call with any questions you may have! Hope this helps! :)
We do not accept that item at the CHaRM. If you want to see if our neighbors at ReSource will take it, give them a call at 303-419-5418!

Yes
No they do not, but I believe Household Hazardous Waste might.
Hey Sarah! We do not accept cellular blinds for recycling at the CHaRM. If the shades are not broken and are still in usable shape, you can check in with our lot neighbors at Resource Central: Materials Reuse Facility to see if they would accept them for reuse. If you'd like to contact them to confirm they would accept them, you can find their information on their Google Business profile here: bit.ly/resourcegooglebusiness.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept pillows for recycling at the CHaRM. We can take many other textile materials, like clothing and sheets, but our recycler will does not accept pillows!
Hey Alex! Those pallets are actually sold through our neighbors at Resource Central! We share a location with them, but they are the ones who sell the pallets and other reusable materials at their reuse facility! We do not recycle eyeglasses. However, we do have a list of places where you can donate old eyeglasses for reuse on our A-Z Recycling Guide! You can find that list of resources here: https://www.ecocycle.org/a-zguide/eyeglasses
Hey Martha! If you can confirm with the company that sent you those starch-based packing peanuts that they are certified compostable, then you can put them into your curbside compost bin, or bring them to us at the CHaRM if you do not have access to compost at your home. However, sometimes "starch-based" can mean that they contain other materials besides starch--such as plastic or polystyrene (commonly known as styrofoam)--and in that case, they would be a landfill item. Alternatively, you could bring them to a place like Art Parts or your local UPS store to see if they would reuse them! Feel free to give us a call at our office number if you have any further questions! Our office is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm
We do take old TV's. You can bring them by the CHaRM at any time we are open, which is Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm. The recycling fee for this item is $0.59/lb + our $3 facility fee.
We do not recycle skis, but our neighbors over at ReSource Central: Reuse Facility takes them so people can use them for creative reuse projects! You can confirm with them by giving them a call at 303-419-5418.
Hey Patricia! Try to get out as much as you can, but it does not have to be squeaky clean. For things like shampoo, gel, body wash, dish/laundry detergent, oil, etc, if you open it, and turn it upside down for about 24 hours, and let as much as possible drain out, that usually does the trick! If the bottle is still caked in residue once you have done that, you can put a little bit of water in the container, close it, shake it up, and empty it out! Then it should be good to go in your recycling bin!
We do not take rugs at our facility. You could try reaching out to iCarpets, Inc., which is located in Denver! They accept rugs!
The hard drive can be wiped and shredded on site for $12
Hi Polly, Yes, both items would be categorized as "other electronics," for which there is a $.49/lb charge. There is also a $3 facility use fee, so bring your plastic bags, #6 block styrofoam and other CHaRM materials.

Yes, we do! We ask that the shoes are paired, so either have the laces tied together, or wrap a rubber band around them to keep them together! You can bring them to our facility at 6400 Arapahoe Rd free of charge at any time we are open, which is from 9am-5pm Monday- Saturday!
Hi Sara, (Only) at our CHaRM facility, we can recycle single molded plastic chairs such as basic outdoor lawn chairs with our "durable plastics", and we can recycle chairs that have a metal frame as "scrap metal" if you can meet our requirement that it be at least 50% metal content. Your chair in question may fall through the cracks between those two categories. You are welcome to send us a photo if you are still unsure. Dan

Check with Resource they might take it or call and ask for Scotty and he can probably give you more info
I believe they have some type of concrete recycling I know there is a fee but not sure how much
To determine if this bag is the type we can accept, we like you to use the "rule of thumb". If the plastic bag is stretchy enough that when you push your thumb against the plastic, it stretches and creates a hole, then we can accept it! If it is too rigid to do this, it unfortunately cannot go in with our plastic film recycling. If you are unsure, feel free to bring it with you the next time you come to the CHaRM, and a staff member can take a look at it for you!
I believe so but there is a fee
Yes they can and when you take them put them in the Cables and Wires Box
You can bring fabrics to the CHaRM! However, they have to be 12" or bigger to be accepted by the company we partner with, UsAgain. If they are smaller scraps, we would suggest you bring them over to Art Parts, a creative reuse center in Boulder!
Yes we accept cardboard, please make sure the size of the cardboard is no larger than 3'x5', and broken down. This will help to save on processing costs. :)
Hey Hillary! Yes, you can recycle it at the CHaRM, we take it as scrap metal. Just make sure to remove the propane tank before you bring it to us! We cannot take that! Hope to see you soon!
Hey Lynn!! Great question! Shea is correct, if you bring a toilet in with all non-porcelain parts removed, it is $6.75 per unit to get recycled. If you bring a toilet in with non-porcelain parts still attached, it is $12.75 per unit. We also have our $3 facility use fee!
You might have to call the office 444-6634 they're closed now
Boulder County residents can take them to Household Hazardous Waste on 63rd.
Yes they do they mix it with the Porcelain you have to let the window know and thay will weigh it and you pay by the pound
All electronics are based on weight, 0.49 per pound on flat panels and 0.59 per pound on old CRTs.

All food grade Styrofoam, such as take out containers, the stuff your hamburger meat comes on from the store, and the like are unacceptable. The "block" Styrofoam that is accepted is (usually) marked #6; and it's he kind that makes a mess. :)
Cork is a type of wood and it composts
Hey Jesus! We only recycle BIKE tires at our facility. We partner with a local company, Green Guru, that makes those tires into something new, like wallets and bags! There is a fee of $0.50 per tire to recycle them at our facility. If you have vehicle tires, we suggest going to Barnsley Tire Co. to get them recycled!
Hello Zoya, unfortunately we cannot accept propane containers of any kind. We generally suggest to take them to a propane vendor, I personally use Fred's propane.
Hey Donald! Our recycling fee for bicycle tires is $0.50/tire.
There's a great smartphone app for this called PaperKarma. You just take pictures of your junk mail, and they work to remove you from those companies' lists. It costs about $20 a year, but it's a huge time and stress saver.
If the hand weights are made of metal, then we can take them as scrap metal! However, if they are in reusable shape, we always suggest trying to donate it for reuse before recycling them!
No, but the Hazardous Waste Facility at the Boulder Recycling Center across the street from CHaRM does accept batteries for recycling.
