My husband and I have stayed at a few Curio hotels by Hilton. This property is very beautiful but I was left wanting a little more. The lay out of the property is great. Location of the room does not matter as you are escorted everywhere via golf carts. The casitas are well decorated and clean. However their age shows in a few areas but nothing off putting. Room service is only for dinner and the food is okay but not worth the price. My husband and I are not golfers but this property would be perfect for all the golfers out there. I wouldn't recommend this property for families. We traveled with family and it is definitely a resort for adults that can minimally accommodate families.

I have waited a while to write this review. It was not made in haste. I thought the resort itself was nice. However, the staff and customer service aspect was horrible. We paid to for one day for my wife and kids. We purchased two cabins together. We showed up one hour before checking and told we could check in now but the cabins would be really far apart, but if we waited one hour they would be next to each other. An hour goes by and nothing. another hour and then they say that one cabin is ready and but not the other one. Another hour later the second cabin is ready. If you pay for a check in time, then your room should be ready at that time! Not 3 hours after a check in time. No compensation, no sorry, just have to wait on cleaning staff. They were rude, unprofessional and not caring considering this was my wife's birthday day and night. I would never stay there again

The location and amenities were very impressive. Resort was clean and neat. People were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I can't get over two things however. Our room was located almost as far away from the amenities as was physically possible. The resort was nearly empty all three days. We needed golf cart service when we left and returned each evening as it was to far to walk in the dark. We could have been placed almost anywhere on the property. The other issue, our room was 57 degrees when we checked-in at 10pm the first evening. FIFTY SEVEN degrees! You didn't know we were coming? Someone couldn't turn on the heat prior to our arrival?

We spent the Thanksgiving holiday with our two adult children in a 3-bedroom villa. It was large and well laid-out, and may have been wonderful when originally built, but was clearly showing its age. It had been vacant for a while prior to our visit and hadn't been prepared for occupancy - while the beds were made, etc., the air was musty, the thermostat set for "away", the gas for the fireplace and grill turned off, had burned out bulbs. The handle on the master bath toilet tank seemed from an abandoned desert highway gas station, and chargers and electrical cords would literally fall out of the outlets when plugged in. The appliances and TV (just one) were new, thankfully. As for the resort, our month-long reservation at The Grill was abruptly canceled with no reason given; the concierge didn't have a clue about resort amenities or the surrounding area; some amenities on their website such as desert photography (and others) simply were not available; and the staff were mostly indifferent to our presence while some seemed would be happier if we weren't there at all. A gruff staff member questioned that we were really resort guests while we were taking a family photo at Promise Rock - who else would we be? He seemed ready to ask for my ID and room key, but thankfully he drove off after spoiling the moment. And for all this we paid full price. One bright spot was the Spotted Donkey restaurant on property (when we could get in). The difficulties in running hospitality businesses during the pandemic are well-known, and I would have given our stay three stars out of sympathy and understanding, but I deducted a star since Hilton, at a "Curio Collection" property no less, should be better than this. Hilton definitely over-promised and under-delivered. We made the best of it, though, and had a great visit together, but the experience could have been so much better if Hilton had met even their own goals. I kept wondering if we should have stayed at a different resort in the area. If you choose to stay at the Boulders, I suggest tempering your expectations to avoid the disappointment our family experienced.

They don't turn them away, and I saw a couple families walking around.(there's a couple nice paths to walk) You can bring kids no problem, but it has golf courses and a spa. It's geared towards adults.
You could call resort. I drove there from San Diego.
If you book a room as a guest, you have access to the grounds for pictures. Plan to use the best spots in the very early morning and during off times. I've done some great photo sessions at midnight amongst the large boulders! Good luck!
Although it looks like Disney flew them in, they are in fact, real. Some if the most beautiful in the area. You can hike around them and get an up close view for yourself.
