Noticed the youth employees and librarians are racist. I heard this from multiple accounts before.I’ve been coming to the library since i was a youth myself and still same librarians are there so i know nothing changed . Especially Jen Abler and Tom. I’ve been a passerby when Jen made a comment and found that Tom did not correct her. I think people who are working closely with youth of different cultures and backgrounds should go through a cultural sensitivity seminar or education course.

They no longer have VHS tapes to check out. They some times have them in the friends of the library book sale.
They take hard cover, paper backs, magazines, jigsaw puzzles CD's and VHS tapes.
We’re open from 9am-5pm on Saturdays. You do need a library card to check out materials, but not to utilize our other services such as the Computer Center. If you have a current library card from another library in Illinois, we can set you up as a reciprocal borrower at our Circulation Desk.

Oak Lawn Public Library cards are free for Oak Lawn residents. Stop by our Circulation Desk anytime during open hours with a photo ID that lists your current address; if your photo ID does not list your current address, we will accept any official piece of mail along with the photo ID.

They do have audiobooks & playaways. There is no fee for patrons, all you need is a library card to check them out. If you do not have a card, you cannot check out the item.

We don't have any scheduled for the winter program season (December, January and February). We will often have a lock-in during summer reading for the teens.
