If you arrive before the park opens, there are big gates blocking the entrances, so you can go across the road to Mission Pkwy Parking and see the quiet part of the riverwalk (this is what I did). This park is huge with many picnic tables and a huge paved circular loop. There's covered pavilions, bathrooms, a huge metal art piece with cacti growing atop it (that was unexpected and cool), and a brief metal bridge. There was minimal trash and I saw someone going around picking it up. This is a lovely park next to the San Antonio river with a lot of wide open grassy space.

Wonderful park which allowed everyone (runners/walkers) a chance to socialize & encourage others to complete the WWP 5K event. I was so happy to get an nice breakfast meal-especially coffee-! I also enjoyed getting all the freebies before I finally left.

Need to call reservation center not available for all dates
There is a phone number you call between 8-5 on weekdays. I do not know the actual number but there is a sign at the park which displays it as well as the hours and park rules. Google would be your best bet if you have no way of making it out there today.
Not sure but you could notify the county park's offices to inquire if they are having a 4th of July celebration.
Yes when you rent the pavilion, you may ask what you can and cannot do for ur rental time?
Today is Nov 4 the only thing you have to do is change your clock one hour behind
