All of us taxpayers should be appalled on how unorganized and inefficient this agency is. No wonder everyone says government workers are slow and lazy. You can never get anyone from this location on the phone and yesterday I was on hold at 8:14am and I set my phone down and made breakfast, ate, brushed my teeth, shaved, showered and got dressed. (No B.S.) Looked at my phone and still was on hold until 10:21am. I had stuff to do so hung up and never got through to a actual human. So being on "hold" for over 2 hours means no one works there. There may be employees there but they don't actually work. Online the only appointment available is anything AFTER July 1 which is 2 months out. I understand if they only have 1 employee running the entire DPS but I'm pretty sure they have more than 1 employees. It's amazing how no one with the DPS can manage to work efficiently and implement a plan to actually get stuff done. I was at CHIC-A-FILA for lunch the other day and they managed to get over 20 cars in and out efficiently and at a timely manner but yet the overpaid managers at DPS can't even answer the phone. Wow. Just wow.

Who ever is in charge should be fired. There is no way we should pay our taxes and be subjected to everything we have to put up with. I've been on hold 6 plus hours for multiple days now. I email. No response. They want you to pay to make an appointment almost a month out! That is insane. Or tell you to show up at 4am to be a walk-in! This is what we are actually paying our government for.
Annie Bracken
Great. My appointment was on time. Paperwork went smoothly. All of it was seamless. I would have preferred to park less than 100yards from the door. It was freezing cold and the strong north wind was hard to navigate. But all went well.
R Andres
Very efficient and organized! Love the online system for waiting in line (inlineonline.ok.gov). As a new resident to the state, Mr. Baker provided me helpful information and resources. I was in and out in 40 minutes, including the 10 minutes it took to wait for my number to be called; this is by far the easiest DMV trip I've ever experienced in any state!!!
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
Yes, you can! Try going to the OK DPS website and emailing the reinstatement help desk. They will require at least your full name and date of birth to locate your record.
No, you do not have to have an appointment. Go in as early as you can, so you have less of a wait, and meet with a hearing officer.
How much is a state id.
You go online to their website
hello if you managed to fix your problem?
Just read it says $25 on their website
If you can't get verification from your cousin, you should get insurance in your name as quickly as possible and take the verification to court with you when you go. That may be difficult because the vehicle isn't in your name. Did you check the sticker on the trash to make sure it's up to date? You should do that before driving it.
Yes, we had to get here @ 7am in order to get seen about my handicap placard & also my suspended license.....
Yes. I got there at 7am last week and didn't get done until 3pm. Either get there real early or there's no point bcuz you won't get seen that day
I'm not sure I'd call Oklahoma Dept of Public Safety in okc to find out.
Are you testing or renewing? If you're not testing you can go to any tag office to get your license
You will need to go to the I-240 location, as this location does not offer written testing.
Yes you can an you can also download the mobile id app an do it from there
Seriously....go there before 10:00am. Get a number go have lunch and they'll text you when your number is about a half hour away. Return to DPS wait for number to be called. They'll text you too...again. Talk to agent. They'll tell you exactly how and what you need. Take your birth certificate, 2 pieces of mail, and your soc card. It may just be a.paperwork deal and you'll be ahead of the game and ready to get it done. Now if you committed a driving crime...dying etc there may be more you'll have to do. This will be a good starting place though. New fed I'd is just under $50. Good for four years. I just moved from KY and went through the process. Hope this helps. Good luck!
It's a pain to get anyone to answer, you'd have to call very early or make an appointment on online is the best option.
No but they do driving test at the dps off of I-240 but I think you have to call and schedule a test. But, you can try your luck and do a walk-in but that only works sometimes.
You should have 2 bills with your name on it
I would go early, take her Id as well. You'll have to stand in line more than likely.
I did the same. I think I saw on the news they were opening up later for appointments
I'm pretty sure you can you just have to call or go by early to register to get the steps to take the written test. I hope you pass!.
They are only open till 9pm at 3600 MLK when they offer special night openings
Go up to the door and a security guy will ask what you need to do. And you tell him what you need and he will let you in. Just make sure to bring a mask or you won't get in.
Yes
I got there at 6am to get my daughter's permit. We were like 17th in line and done by 11am. If you have a passport you can get a regular ID because if you fly you can use your passport. But id probably just go ahead and get the REAL ID
I want to change my address in person, do I need an appointment? Also, I want q
I literally went 3 times last week and you'll have to camp out from 1-2 in the morning in order to be seen at opening! So many people are in the waiting lines and if you get an appointment it probably won't be until January! Take snacks and coffee ☕
Yes I believe you will... They say you can make an appointment however the next available one is in late December... I had to go get in line at 6am so when they opened at 8am I could get a number... Then I waited in my car for 6 hours until they texted me it was almost my turn... Then I waited inside for another 2 hours to finally get called to get my ID... The process might b different for reinstatement but I wouldn't count on it!
I didn't need an appt. I went up there and pulled a number and was in and out in 20 minutes for reinstatement. I went about 2pm no line or anything
Two proofs of residency so two envelopes with your name and address on it you need your social security card you need your birth certificate and I believe that's about it and provide the expired 2016 drivers license as well as orders from your military service
Go to your local DMV and be prepared to show 2 forms of ID. Your old license won't count. Birth certificates are good. Ask for an ID card.
Here are some links on the DMV website. Hopefully they'll help. https://www.ok.gov/triton/search.php?sitesearch=https://www.ok.gov/dps/&q=Points&as_sitesearch=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ok.gov%2Fdps%2F#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=Points&gsc.page=1
You will need to call and speak with an examiner. Every driver is different.
Be clear there is no testing of any kind at the MLK location
Call 425 2059 option 5 tALK to hearing officer 8 to 345
I need one how do I replace one that has expired?
Yes! Go to the DPS website, click on "Obtain an Oklahoma Driver License/ID Card". Then click on "Manuals". Then click on the manual you wish to study.
Call them
👎 no
No one knows, to me it is just a way to rip off tax payers, why pay for a number that gives no useful information and is never answered?
They are extremely backed up better to go there than call.
No. Not with parent taught DE. only commercial ( like brown's, alert, champion, etc. )driving school completion certificates can waive the written test.
You have to make an appointment online $3.75 then be sure and be on-time. No joke I never was able to get an answer on the phone but they were awesome once I physically showed up.
No address never changed . Was the one I received today the first one or last one?
If that's where you left it.... yes
Walk-ins take a couple hrs, Wednesday mornings is slowest
No, you can just go in and wait, but without an appointment, depending on when you get there it is a hit or miss if your actually get seen.
Sorry, I can only answer that a new ID card is $26
It's a government agency, I think it's only Monday thru Friday
No but you do have to go to DPS. I suggest getting there very early the line begins around 5:30
Go to your local cdl office
Ok thats on mlk?? And I jus woke up and after reading everyone's reviews I'm not going to be seen today. So I'll drive there tonight so I can be there early at 6am...
Yes but you need to get there an hour before they open. 6 am to 630 am and you'll be seen.
So, I know there's two numbers. One incorrect and the other I was able to get through, but early morning. The best option is there website.
They should let you know in the news if they will be open or closed. Keep an eye on channel five. They'll keep you advised. Or whatever there slogan is.
It depends on the state you're coming from. Class D license in Oklahoma allows you to drive a single vehicle or combination of vehciles under 26000 lbs GVWR. This is the common driver license for regular folks in 'regular' cars. Usually if you need a different class of license it is pretty obvious, like driving a big dump truck, semi, or hauling passengers, etc.
You will need a Passport or Birth Certificate. If you want to get the Real ID, you will need one of those, plus 2 Proofs of Residency. 2 Bills if possible with your name & address on it.
You should reach out to driver compliance. They will be able to let you know exactly what to do next. In person is best.
For reinstatement she would need to speak with someone in driver compliance. In person is best. But a call would work also.
So sorry got your loss. You can dispose of it or you can keep it. Your call. God bless.
I have no answer i can say every thing has changed in the running of that place and it at least than it had been.
$20.00 for a State ID card
Yes it is
You need the receipt for the ticket or warrant that you paid off. They either emailed you one or gave you a paper copy of it. Either way, have it in paper form to physically hand over. Also, you will need proof of car insurance I believe. Maybe that's all I needed on account of no insurance tickets
Yes
They should answer the phone, if they don't try again a couple times
You absolutely have to make an appointment or you will wait on hold forever. I waited on hold an hour at a time for two days in a row. Once I got up there, my appointment was finished and I was done within 20 minutes! Of the two options that everyone has which is just walking in or MAKING AN APPOINTMENT, I would definitely suggest making an appointment. Like I said, I was in and out in 20 minutes!
Nope
They will take cash, check, money order, debit or credit...
Yes
You can do both.
I didn't have mine but I did have the paper showing I applied for a duplicate card during covid
Not sure call before you go there because if you don't have the information that you need they'll send you away
No never I've held on from noon til after 5oclock waste of time
No they will mail it to you
I would call and ask how too if you are having an issue with finding it on their website! They were very friendly and helpful when we went down regarding a license renewal!
Yes
Real ID is available at Dps. Obtain vehicle tags at your local tag agency.
I just got mine reinstated and it's cost me $650, but i had 2 tickets for driving with a suspended license and no insurance. I believe it's $350 normally, you can go on the website and it'll tell you.
You can walk in Monday through Friday from 8am-4:30pm
Yes
No you don't have to make appointment just go up there early in the morning and wait in line and they'll help you out
I would recommend going to your local tag agency to renew your tag
U need to go up there early in the morning and wait in line and they'll help
Yes u can do a walk in but u need to be there early in the morning and wait in line and then they will help you
My knowing about this questions though you may call the Mega Center that just open to help in catching up on DPS overload.
Yes it better to do it in person it will get done fast
Yes, if you go at 4 am and wait to be seen when open at 7am. Then you have a good chance. If I was you I would Google DPS Mega Center that just open to help with overload their having. 1000 NE 10th Street Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They will be of better and quicker help for your situation.
Edmond is pretty easy to pass not sure on about making appointments with the mega center open now
Can a person with an appointment for registration.switch it for a written test
Wish l could help.. But l do not know... Breast of luck
Good to know
Security told us the best time to arrive was by 6:45 to get a good place in line
When i was there 2 weeks ago I over heard a work tell a lady to b there by 4:30or she probably ain't gonna be seen
But if they not actually standing in line...I don't recognize it.
Your best bet is to email them or go to a DPS center at least an hour before the open. I literally sat in Edmond, I-240, Martin LK, and Norman. They rarely answer the phone. Being on hold is not them ignoring you..thats them trying to get to you
You really just have to get to DPS a hour or so before they open. Take a number and be prepared to wait because you are a walk-in at that point. But if you have the patience you will be seen. Good luck though
No
It's best to try the Edmond, or I-240 locations first.....
I think 18 as well
Or call the DPS office, to ask where it was sent to, then you will @ least know where to begin....
Go to DPS Inline/Online to schedule an appt, (if you want to wait about 3months). As early as they open if you want done early. 730am
I doubt it since it takes from 7am till they close for a simple license transfer... I would say going in would be a better option.
You'll have to go up their. They are not answering the phones. I have no idea why. Go early, stand in line. That's what we had to do.
Go to a tag agency or call the pds and they can tell you
Look on odcr or oscn enter your name and hit search. On oscn it might not go with the first search button below where you entered your info, just go to the one below it. You do not need to enter anything but your name
I agree with Michael.
Yes
I think it is $38.50. You can go to some tag agency's to get a replacement. But call first because some only do the real ID. If you want a real ID then you have to go to DPS first.
You can't make appointments to reinstate your license. It's done by walk in only. Get there as early as you can and you can get in. I went at lunch and moved through the line quickly.
You can walk in but be there a 6 am the line fills fast . Then you can get a ticket and leave then they will text you when your time is close
I wouldn't recommend for you to just go and waist your time, call (405) 425-2300 and will recommend to call early in the morning and if you want to wait a long time you can other wise just take the option where they can call you back the same day, but call at 8:00 am they'll return your call the same day. Good luck.
They were saying up to an hour or hour and a half when I was there yesterday
I am not sure what do you mean, but you can pay with a credit card, bank card or check.
2 forms of ID and 2 proofs of residence for the Real ID. I don't know about sending in your license but you may be able to get through the process by using the website on the back of your driver's license. I hope this helps. I'm still waiting for my license to arrive by mail and that may take 30 days.
Well if you are getting the real ID then you just need to tell us where live however we cannot put a PO Box as an address
I'm guessing that if your last driver's license did not have your social security number on it then it would be the last number that you were issued when you first got your driver's license in Oklahoma. I hope this will be a starting point for you. 17 years no license you might have to start all over taking the written test then the driver's test and then you get your license.....
You can pay for one at tag agency or you can download a free pdf on the dps website
Think you can do that online or at Tag Agency
Not sure on price but you can probably go to the local tag office and they can give you more info
If she has her Drs authorization I would assume just go to the Dept of Public Safety to get her new placard. It only took me minutes
Best to make an appt. OKC is only place taking walk-ins.
If you get there at 4:30ish a.m. you'll be able to do a walk in. We got there at 5 and barely made it in.
Yes
Yes. You will have to wait a decent while. I suggest getting there at 3am. Bring a chair and a way to entertain yourself and dress for the weather cause you'll be out in it for a while.
Not necessarily. I took somebody up there, 2 weeks ago, & he walked right in. The website is now saying go to any tag agency. Kenny Skaggs does not require an appointment, but you will wait for hours. You can't even make an appointment online anymore.
I can only tell you information on how I was served. Take a whole day off and get there at 4 or 5 in the morning and be one of the first 20 people in line. The only other way is to make an appointment 3 months ahead of time. It's the only way my morning crew friends have discovered. All clients and situations are handled in this way.
I went for parking permit. I believe you need an appt for the DL
Go up to DPS to get them reinstated and then go get your license back at DMV but if you let them expire then you have to take the written and driving test again
Make an appointment with DPS and take a driving test. Bring all your ID.
Yes
Yes, but you will need to show up at like 5 am to get through the line.
Generally, identification cards are printed at the tag agency not mailed.
Send an email to one of the reinstatement officers from their website. It usually takes some time, but they will email you back with all of the required costs and dovuments.
https://www.ok.gov/dps/
You have to make an appointment or you can wait all day and not be seen.
Dmv on mlk
Go to your doctor they have the form for them and you to fill out then take it to DO Say 36th and eastern go to the door with the form filled out by you and the Dr. and show them you go right inside takes 5 minutes.
No....but you can only check in like 15 minutes before your scheduled appt. Just go up to the door and knock and the door guard will let you know what to do.
I believe it's $52 or$55. Just show up. They have gotten pretty efficient lately. Bring your birth certificate just in case
Yes
First of all you will need patience you will need to stand in line for a couple hours and go early to get a good place inline proof of address two forms of that Social Security card birth certificate I'm not really sure but I would call ahead to make sure
You need your old license and your birth certificate and take them to this place that's what they do here
Yes or obtain a letter of state compliance in order to provide to your licensing state.
Yes u can you will need your birth certificate two proofs of residency Social Security card proof of identity $35.50 wait in line for several hours go early
Sorry can't help with that question need to call somebody with that one
Like mr. Harsha L, said you need to go early to get in line because you go any later it will take forever to get a number and then the wait is even longer😊
Would be best to check with them directly or it might be on their website.
I don't work for DPS, but you should go to a tag agency as soon as you can to renew. They can let you know costs, etc. I believe there is a grace period after it expires before you have to reapply.
You'll have to call the dmv its a 325 dollar reinstatement fee plus your tickets if you still owe on any
That might depend on the reason why it is suspended. If it is expired, check with a tag agency to see if it is eligible to be renewed. They might be able to help with other reasons, also. Their website might be able to tell you, also.
There is a non drivers state ID, but it does require a photo, like a driver's license, not sure of the process to get one, though. Check out their website to find out.
Well my ID is an Oklahoma ID the last time I got a new ID in Oklahoma I just had to use my fingerprint which I have with me all of the time LOL
You can go online and make an appointment, or you can stand in line and wait.
8-5, but get there early if you don't have an appointment, and plan on staying all day.
I'm not 100 on this but I'm pretty sure you will have to go to DMV to pay reinstatement fee
Not sure but it should be listed.
Depends on if you pass the first time. Count on $75.50.
What's the question?class for what??
What you need to do is look at the GVWR
Someone is always working. What do you need?
What do you need
No. And if you come to the exam station at 36th and MLK, the placard will be issued immediately 👍
www.inlineonline.ok.gov
No. Sorry
I went for my husband
Go to www.dps.ok.gov and look for a dps office near you
Cash or cashier's check
There is an application available on our website. Have it completed by your doctor. It is www.ok.gov/DPS. I think you'll be able to find it from there. If not, call any exam site 😁
Don't let it expire over six months before you appear before an examiner or you will have to retest written and drive.
Where going to ask you for your physical address. Can you provide one?
Probably not, just go in and wait
Yes but it may be faster to go to another exam station.
Is your license from another state? Do you have a state issued birth certificate or current US passport? You should be able to transfer. Bring it to an exam station.
Maybe try tag office, just tell them you want okla license, trade in present state for okla. No more needs to be said
At this one yes
Depends who your calling and how busy they are....
If you are over 18 you can take written and drive test without having to get a permit.
I'm trying to call to see what Is needed for first time ID card and where to come get them
I believe you have to go to DPS main (36th & MLk) for that, since you dont already have an OK license. The best thing to do though is call up there Mon-Fri, 8-430, and ask for a DL Examiner.
No w i-240 location would be the place for that.
Go to https://www.ok.gov/dps/documents/2017%20Oklahoma%20Drivers%20Manual%20web.pdf to download a driver's manual.
Usually you may go in on that Friday
No first come first serve, and they don't give copies just duplicates.
The only location that accepts cash is this central location at Martin Luther King. An appointment is not needed for reinstatement with a hearing officer, as the hearings are held on a first come, first served basis. So the earlier you are there, the better. Good luck!
I believe any Drivers Examiner should be able to find out for you. You should also be able to call between the hours 8:00 and 5:00, to see if they are able to answer your question.
Our central location on MLK accepts cash and cards. We only accept money order or cashier's check at all other locations.
The tests do not cost anything...the amount you pay is for the license. You may find the fees on the DPS website, or by calling/coming in and speaking with an examiner.
Tickets are paid at the courthouse. Look on the ticket for info.
The letter gives you information on how to reinstate. If you have questions call the phone number on the letter that it says to call for questions.
Are you going to pay in full?
It depends. Requirements can be mailed to OKC to reinstate.
You can email the reinstate help desk. Here is the link to the page with the reinstate help desk email https://www.ok.gov/dps/Divisions.html.
You can find more information on the DPS website or by typing in "OK dps id card" on google. You will need two forms of identification, one being a birth certificate, and you will need to go in and see an examiner.
No, but the I-240 location offers written testing.
I'm not sure of the cost, but I'd call any "tag agency" for this information.
You can email the reinstallation support service on the DPS website.
I believe we do now.
Any state tag agency can renew it
No, you need to see a driver license examiner. You can find a list of exam sites by searching on the OK DPS website. Make sure to take proper ID!
+Madi B you are so helpful
Norman DMV, Shawnee DLD, Oklahoma City DMV off of I-240
You would need a doctor's approval, first. I suggest downloading the form from the DPS website, then have your doctor sign it, then going to the Public Safety Office. Good luck!
You dont have to have an appointment to see a hearing officer, as the hearings are held on a first come, first served basis. Just go in!
Same, so far Ive come to realize that this states government is trash just like everything else here.
It usually takes anywhere from 5-7 business days. This is if you provided enough information to locate your record, and supplied the correct documentation
yes
