I had a very, very positive experience with Stephanie, Charles, and Amichala. They were courteous and professional. The initial certification meeting was held via Zoom call and they acknowledge virtual communications such as emails and uploads to their convenient, secure webmail server. With consideration first for the health and safety of the clientele especially those with compromised health complications and disabilities. I'd highly recommend this location for housing assistance and resources to prevent homelessness.

I am a home health nurse and have been helping my patient with housing. He was selected for an apartment and only needed a disability form turned in. I personally filled it out with him and mailed it. I called several times to see if they received it. I had to have another case worker tell me it wasn't received. It guess it got lost in the mail. Evidently there is no way to get another form to fill out. His case manager called back in a month even though her message said she would call within 2 business days. Needless to say, he lost the apartment in public housing. The case manager is stone cold and very condescending. My advice to anyone needing to turn in any paper forms is go to the Housing Authority building and drop it off in their drop box.

Nobody will answer the door. You must speak to them through an outdoor microphone.

Tbh the experience is what you make of it I applied a little over 2 years ago got approved for Ocha’s public housing last year moved to Okc from Tx. I got approved for OCHA section 8 back in May 2022. I almost lost hope as it was very hard to secure a home had to get and extension (you only get one) which went very fast as of today I have an home inspection scheduled for 8/4/22. Word of advice be patient it'll be here before you know it and as far as house searching goes……act as if it’s first come first serve view these homes with vouchers and approval forms in hand and have your deposit the houses going fast so you need to be overly prepared. Krystine falling was great! once you warm up to Stacy Johnson if she is your caseworker she’s not so bad.

Go to your nea aarest housing authority. Office and fill out an application. In cases like yours they May move closer to the front of the line,
It will be the 1800 NE 4th St. Even though it shows online as closed it's open on Saturday. We too had the same thing happen about 3 weeks ago and when we got there they were open. You'll easily be able to tell which building as itll be the only one with cars in the parking lot.
You can call them and they'll send you an application.
Good morning Ms Washington. At this time we do not have a home ownership program.
You should contact our offices at (405) 239-7551. Ask for either the Leased Housing (Section 8) or Public Housing departments.
Public housing
Monica, you can apply for section 8 starting Tuesday morning. That's when our waiting list opens back up. You have to apply online at our website. You can apply for public housing as well. Our website is www.ochanet.org
Every 5th of the month I believe
Putnam green apartments
Okc plumbing inspectors. They will come out and do an inspection. Take pictures and document times when made or make contact with apt. Very helpful in proving ur case.

Depends How far they're behind on working your Application. Anywhere from a Month to a Year. So sorry
Ask them to email it to you
It's almost better to not have a Job rather than. Trying to do something with your life to get rent free. It's income based.
You wanna call and have them email you a application. They have the homeless alliance there so they might can get you in I can't promise how fast though
They stop answering phones at 4pm.... Call and go to the operator to speak directly to a live person.... Be ready to reset passwords with your email on the internet.
Not sure, just give them a call.
Are they section 8 approved?

You should call the city rescue mission they will help you get into place help you with what to do about medical to have your child and other stuff call the office tell them your situation or call dhs hotline.
Contact Frank Miller @ (405) 239-7551.

After you send in for your transfer, and send in the paperwork for whatever property your interested in. If housing approves of it as far as voucher amount they then send you a letter to inspect the unit to make sure everything is in good living condition and they will tell you right then and there if it passes but inspection date can take up to 4-6 weeks depending on how quick they process your paperwork.
Is being homeless and not working at moment are those qualifications

Anytime there is a change in income (if it goes up or down) you should report it to the office right away for any income base property. Your rent is to be adjusted accordingly.
