They get the 5th star when they allow snowboarders

Nice place, but the elitism isn’t needed. Also, let the free people of America snowboard.

Very expensive. Too much traversing. My family who snowboards has to stay at snowbird when I want to ski. Not a family friendly resort.

Stuck in the 80s with a hate for snowboarding. They don’t clearly mark this on their site.

As someone who both snowboards and skis, I'm ok with a few resorts allowing just skiing. Sure, I'd love to board Alta but I'm much more comfortable at Alta on a family ski day then I am at a place like Brighton. Not to mention how much better quality the snow remains when it's not all getting scraped off.
Ive never been hit whike skiing by another skier just snowboarders
A mighty lightening bolt will burst forth from Mt Baldy, cracking the board in two lengthwise and you will be forced to ride down the mountain on two planks instead of one just as God intended.
Alta is a leaseholder of Federal land, and as such, they have the right to control activities that take place within the area.
April 21 then a bonus weekend April 26-28
Yes according to the website
It's open now. Usually close 2 week before opening but the summer road is always open.
No
Alfs at mid mountain. Will even give you clean glasses at the water fountain
30-40 minutes depending on weather i would recommend using a company called Canyon Transportation or Alta shuttle
As of right now they are open all weekend. They have had 3 in of snow is the last 48 hours but more than 12 in of snow this week.
$141 USD for the day. https://shop.alta.com/lift-tickets
Of course. Alta is open as early as November 20. Always open around December 23, 24 as well. :)
Day tickets need to be purchased in advance this season. There are no reservations otherwise, but once parking is full the mountain is too. That's how they're controlling attendance. Everything you need to know is here: https://www.alta.com/winter-2020-21
Good question. Time will tell.
It is a madhouse most days because of the newer Ikon discount passes. Be sure you get to the mouth of the canyon by 730 on a snow day otherwise parking is not an option
Get the "Ski Utah" app on your phone and you will have access to conditions and road closures all the time. Upper Little Cottonwood canyon is currently closed.
About 45 minutes normally but with ikon pass if there is good snow parking will be scarce and could be 2 plus hours. Was just there last week during the week and traffic was awful. Plus the ride down the canyon could be 2 hours as well.
Yes as long as you are a skier you are welcome at Alta. They don't allow snowboarders
It depends on a lot of things. Go to their website to see their different pricing options
Good for you to ski at 82! and I hope it's free. I'm not there yet, working on it, and plan to be skiing at 82 also.
You can get a ticket just for Alta, a ticket for Alta and Snowbird, or a Super Pass which works for Alta, Snowbird, Solitude and Brighton.
Go to the Albion ticket office . (upper parking lot by Ski School).
Look at altas Internet site it will tell you all you need to know
