Had a great day at the track during a High Performance Drivinig Experience. Neat to see the track during an event with limited people. Fun day, education was outstandingly good, clean, well organized, and the flaggers and directors were excellent. There is also so much to do at NJMP including Karting, food, pool (I think, didn't use it), and they have on-premise gas too.

I love this place. Always a friendly environment and great racing. The track is always well maintained and the staff friendly. Can’t wait til 2023 season.

I have become a repeat visitor to NJMP over the years as both a spectator and a racer. NJMP is a great place to come to if you are a car and/or motorsport enthusiast. Many friends of mine had their first track events here and almost all have been hooked ever since. Both Lightning and Thunderbolt tracks are challenging, with off-camber corners and twisting hairpins ('The Octopus' on the Thunderbolt circuit, in particular). I cannot say enough great things about the NJMP staff - super kind and helpful, and they pretty much all are true petrolheads like me. Their classrooms are super helpful for those wanting to learn how to drive faster, safely.

While this may vary year to year, currently a 15 minute session will cost you 15$ with a 3$ headsock surcharge. Paying for more sessions up front will cost less at 60$, 85$, and 110$ for 2, 3, and 4 sessions respectively.
No. Age requirement is 14+ and at least 5ft tall.
I would contact tempest raceway. That's the name of the kart track. You should be able to bring your own.
NJMP has Hotel Rooms on property and can be reserved online visiting www.NJMP.com. If you would like to stay off property our Exclusive Hotel Partners are Holiday Inn Express, Wingate, and Hampton Inn located 15 minutes from the track.
Usually tracks are not open for public use. But they are available to drive on during track days run by various organizations such as driving schools. These events are typically open to the public and have an entrance fee and as long as your vehicle can pass tech inspection and be safely tracked you're good to go. Usually these events have accommodations for novices & people that have never driven on a track before. If you want to see about getting access to the course exclusively for yourself and/or a group of others you're going to have to contact the event organizer or something like that at njmp directly
No! That's the park across the street. NJMP - the main park - is road course and Karting only. Google NJMP Field of Dreams - that's the park across the street from NJMP. It's MotoX and quads. They also have some nice trails to ride. Quads are only allowed certain days. I hope this helps 👍
Yes in all convertibles there needs to be a roll bar that goes above drivers head with a helmet on. Regardless if it's a soft top or removable hard top
Lighting is slightly less technical and a bit shorter. It has several elevation changes that result in blind corners. Thunderbolt has one. Thunderbolt is sometimes run with a chicane. Thunderbolt feels faster due to connected turns. Its a great park. NJMP is the best facility in the Northeast.
The other option is to get a racing license, which I believe can be as young as 14 yo. The person would need to successfully complete a recognized school such as one from the SCCA, NASA, BMWCCA, Bertil Roos, Skip Barber, or another accredited program. However, each organization that runs track days has to meet the conditions of their insurance for the event. NJMP has its own track days, as well as a private membership of which I am a member. I can tell you that we have people under 16 that do member days fairly frequently. The track's insurance is different from any external organization that rents the track. So if you are serious about tracking, and especially racing, the Drivers Club is the best option. You can learn more about it by calling NJMP, or visiting their website. Bottom line is that it's much easier to race under 16 yo than to do track days with any organization that is not run by the track itself.
Absolutely. You can get on track with NJMP's own track days, organizations like NASA, SCCA, BMW Club, Porsche Club, and many others, in addition to the Drivers Club membership, which I am a part of. Each organization has technical and safety requirements. The best place to start is using MotorsportsReg.com, or calling the track itself. The season starts in early March. Note, you will need to buy or rent a full-face SNELL 2010 or newer helmet. For a normal car, the two must do things are using brake pads designed for racing, and flushing the brake fluid to use DOT 4, instead of the normal DOT 3 type. Some cars, usually Porsche or high end sports cars, may use DOT 4. DOT 3 fluid will boil and cause your car to not brake! If you are new to track days in general, I recommend that you go with either the track's own days, a NASA Northeast event, or BMWCCA event, as these organizations are outstanding when it comes to education and training.
They have 2 great tracks here. I've run my motorcycle on the thunderbolt track and it is great fun. There is a great long straight comming out under the bridge to the start/ finish line. I'm not sure how long it is, but the track maps should be available on the website. If not you can call them with questions, they are very helpful.
Yes, spectators can wear whatever...if you are going to Lightning there is ZERO shade.
Its open to the public
No
Josh, join a car club such as SCCA. Our South Jersey Region has many track days that you can drive your car on both tracks.
Not a drag strip in anyway. There is always Atco dragway in NJ. Call Allan or Cortney @ NJMP for all your inside info. Or ck website...
U can bring your own
You're going to need to call in and ask about that. You can set up private events.
Golf carts are available
It depends on the event and who is hosting it.
