The Pines at Elizabeth City

I called and made plans to have a surprise 70th birthday party for my sister who lives in Elizabeth City. I was given a price per person. Everyone was going to be seated at 3 round tables.The woman told me there was going to be a wedding the night before so she would leave the white chair covers on so I could bring my chair ties on. Our menu was philly cheese steak sandwich, chicken salad on a crossiant, fried fish sandwich, bistro salad.They crammed us in a small room with 2 rectangular tables meeting at the ends. The workers aren't in any kind of uniform,jeans, sweat pants, etc. The walls in our room were knotty pine all scratched up and damaged, the ceilings had signs of water damage, the metal registers were rusted, the dart boards were open. I had to ask for a small table to putthe cake on, then I had to go find a table cloth myself. The entrance interior doors were filthy, windows were filthy. They carry 50lb bags of onions etc through the front door, who does that. The owner is clueless or just doesn't care. I called 2 X and emailed the person in charge of catering and I was never acknowledged I had to call again to confirm. Then she seemed like she didn't remember. It's sad because this place has a lot of potential but not the right people to make positive changes. need to filter the oil they're frying with because the fried food was dark. Also they crammed us in a small, small room with on a crossiant. Writing this review at the end doesn't make much sense but the chicken salad came on bread not a crossiant. Also the fruit was in a cup like fruit cocktail. Not good. I was really disappointed.

Horrible service. It was a very slow inexperienced staff that got half of the orders wrong. I didnt receive my order until it was time for us to leave (1hour 45 min wait). Had to get it to go but they did discount the meals for the inconvenience. 2 stars are for the discount.

Tried to eat at the Indian restaurant Sunday. It’s not a restaurant as the menu implies, it’s a $20 per person buffet. No signs, no instructions, absolutely ignored by the staff in the “bar”. It would have been nice to have a nice meal with my wife but not here!!
