I am active duty military and unfortunately this office is one of the only ones that is Tricare approved in the area. My wife has been dealing with a painful skin rash on her face that comes and goes for the past several years, and we have had no luck with any dermatologist. We decided to try Gateway to see if they could help. When my wife called to make an appointment, the receptionist, or whoever she was talking to was a total !@#$%. She cut my wife off and interrupted her questions, didn't ask any information regarding why my wife needed to make an appointment, and then informed my wife that the only appointment available was in 6-7 weeks. When my wife asked why there was no earlier available appointments, the receptionist just told her that she had to call every day to see if there was any cancellations... The receptionist then just hung up the phone. Whether or not Gateway has a legitimate practice that can actually help you? To answer that, you'll have to wade through steaming piles of !@#$ to find out. Recommend hard pass.

Called to make a n appointment as a new patient. The process is not patient friendly. My first impression is not favorable with the receptionist and I can only think it comes from the people running the business. I will go elsewhere where it appears they Would like my business.

I moved from Watervliet to Malta -I needed a dermatologist Because the one I went to in Glenmont was clearly wrong about a growth on my hand being a wart. I was suspicious about his diagnosis because it was oddly shaped and was growing at a fast rate. I made an appointment at Gateway dermatology and saw Dr. Eric Gold. He had a fantastic bedside manner, was very empathetic and very thorough. The office seem to run like clockwork there was not much of a wait in the waiting room, or in the small inner office. Not only was the growth removed on my first visit it was sent away for biopsy because it potentially could have been a cancer. Thankfully it turned out it was not cancer and the growth went away after the first treatment and my life is back to normal with no worries! My husband and I have both had terrible results with dermatologist between grandma and Latham and I cannot tell you how happy I am to a found one that I trust and I am happy with I will be going here as long as Dr. Gold is practicing in the area.

I have been a patient with this practice for several years since moving to the area. This was out of necessity as no other locations were accepting patients. When I first became a patient it was okay, I had some trouble with getting scripts or meeting with my doctor. However in recent years it’s been a nightmare working with the Malta office specifically. I’ve had issues dealing with doctors and the insurance and not being provided updates on authorizations for scripts and not being told where in the process I was for approvals or denials so I did not have medicine except for tiny samples. I then confirmed with insurance that a treatment was denied when I tried to book a new appointment to find a new medicine Heidi in the office for scheduled was EXTREMELY RUDE cut me off and would not let me explain why I needed a new appointment and told me insurance was still pending. When I said I confirmed it was denied and just needed a new treatment she refused and I had to fight and beg until she begrudgingly agreed to schedule me. I have worked in customer service and scheduling in my own line of work for years and have never been spoken to or treated with such disrespect. All I wanted was to speak to my doctor to understand what was happening and to get a new script. I immediately called other practices and was finally able to find a new practice that was accepting patients and immediately called to cancel the appointment. They were very rude and dismissive upon cancellation as well. By far the worst experience I’ve ever had with any “professional” office ever. Genuinely, I’m shocked by the level of disrespect I received. I have never been one to leave bad reviews because I like to give the benefit of the doubt but their dismissal of a patient advocating for proper treatment and clarification was too egregious to not share.
