Went there on neighbor's suggestion. Nice drive to that place with both rocky uphill mountain with wildflowers along Rt 550. Drive upto the wilderness area is bumpy.. good if you own four-wheel drive. Ample parking area available with pit restroom. Nice short hike to the lake. A variety of mushrooms on the trail, couple of cows...saw a lot of young tweens/teens on horses. Guess they also let you ride. Didn't check for the price. Quiet serene lake with wildflowers. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to spend couple of hrs away from city

Great hike, beautiful scenery, didn't catch any fish and people did leave eaten pistachio and sunflower seed shells, which made it look gross. But, we love this lake!

The trail is great. Parking area is very nice and bathrooms on site are clean. What I love is that besides the marked trail to get to the lake, there is also the more dirt road like trail for people who don't want to walk the rockier trail, or have trouble with the rockier trail. Its more open but it is shaded and you pass a couple of aspen groves. As you get closer to the lake you cross a small bridge, and there is a stream running next to you. Very pretty.

Beautiful place! Easy hike. Especially fun for kids, my 6 yr old grandson had fun climbing the rocks!

No
Yes, but it is an undeveloped dispersed site. If you want a developed site, go to Clear Creek or Rio De Las Vacas nearby.
Noooope. Please don't clear a path with your 4x4 tree clearing truck.
I'm not sure if that road to trailhead is open yet. Altho I have not tried yet this year, I know in yrs past it was not open until May, I believe
Yes, there are spots along the road or you can back pack along the hiking trails.
