This is such a beautiful and clean place to visit! The beach, the playground, the bathrooms - I don’t think in all the times we’ve been that I can say I’ve had a bad experience! We’ve only ever had day passes, haven’t camped there yet so I can’t speak to that. But going for the day or a few hours is time well spent! We even had my daughters 15th birthday on the beach/at a covered picnic table. Highly recommend!!

This is one of the best state park I have seen. It is a perfect place for a day trip. You can play in the water and sand, it is very beautiful. The waves are not very big. People will come here With family and friends and prepare their own food in the barbecue area. The north side of the lake was filled with Kite surfing professionals. The wind in the north side was heavy, so it is the perfect spot for kite surfing

My family has been here twice in the past month camping in the Hawthorne primitive sites. We love it! Sites are beautiful and both sites we stayed at were on the water. We love fishing and the sound of the water at night so it was perfect for us. Park employees are all so friendly as well and facilities are kept clean. Beautiful Texas State Park! ❤️

This was a good fishing trip with friends. Upon my arrival the park ranger at the gate was very helpful in assisting me in locating my group. The few who camped seemed to enjoy the available space right next to the lake. The early morning hours were ablaze with natural sounds from the surrounding forest. The fishing was great for a few but not for my novice skill level. The available grill space near the dock was a nice “off the path” place for lunch. Excellent adventure for the those who enjoy the outdoors.

And
They do accept CC
Swimming is all year if you can handle cold water. It is a state park and if you purchase a year pass you can enter all Texas state parks with it and it really saves you money. We have been too state park in Galveston and all over just a great investment.
It will be a wonderful experience to go visit with friends and family. It will also depend if the weather is nice and warm.
You don't, but it's always best to reserve just to ensure your entrance. It just a safety measure on your end, it was needed back when COVID first started and they had to limit the number of people, since then I haven't noticed any restrictions. But, isle du boi gets pretty busy, so if you can reserve, I would!
Well, I am not camping but I would like to camp one day
I was there last Saturday and I saw a couple of people with ATV's on their site though I did not see any ATV's on the trails or around the campgrounds. Your best bet is to call the office at Ray Roberts to get a clear answer from them. They might restrict that because of all the wildlife around the park
I do not know. I have a 28ft trailer, but I don't know the max
If by hookups you are including sewer, they don't have sewer at their sites, just water and electric.
I think it is for the best. To secure your space. Especially on holidays.
Absolutely. I would check the online reservation request. It generally has up to date availabilities for all of the Texas State Park camping sites. Good luck and enjoy the time camping.
Nope. "It is against park rules to drink or display an alcoholic beverage in a public place at any time. All outdoor areas are public in a state park. Also, we cannot sell alcoholic beverages within a state park. Refer to Texas State Park Regulations 59.134 (b)"
No dogs allowed in the water in the designated swim area. Doesn’t mean you can find a place for you and your dogs elsewhere in the park.
Hello, Landon. I hope you're doing well. According to my knowledge, this lake is known for its black bass, catfish, crappie, and sand (white) bass. Bass fishing can be done in a variety of locations. During the spawning run up tributaries in the spring, white bass fishing is at its best. Perhaps you can discover a nice spot at the lake and have some great fishing with your family.
The parks closes at 10 & you can have dogs but on a leash & not on the beach area.
I think not. You just have to arrive early because if you don't, you can't find a good place.
Day church $7 of person I don't know by horses but everything else Yes
Yes the volleyball nets were up and the swimming areas is fully open. We went the weekend of 4-24-2021
7$ per adult. I believe kids under 11 are free
It's $25 for a campsite with water and electricity hookups
Yes there is
They sure are, spent three nights there with my dog. Walked my dog within 50 feet of deer, beautiful experience.
Looks like you need to apply for the disability passport. If you go to the Texas State Parks page and search for disability it should show you the requirements.
https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com here you can make the reservation.
Yes. We need to reserve online for campaigning and stay. https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/ray-roberts-lake/fees-facilities/campsites
Most of the picnic tables have covering but most likely they will be littered with bird poop :) The ones closest to the beach front are open and canopies help. Anyways, there are plenty of them so it wont be a problem
You can make reservations, but also you can just show up , less crowded on the morning.
I'm pretty sure 7 for kids 0-12 and 10 for addults
I was by the swimming part yesterday and I saw cars and people over by the fishing pier , couldn't see if they were actually fishing.
Yes it is dog friendly but pets must be on a leash. There are some sites that will not accommodate a rig your size but most will. I believe that the park limits a site to 1or 2 weeks.
If you have camping aria they are very nice also the lake is nice
Yes, campers are required to provide their own camping equipment and tents, unless you are renting a cabin in a Texas state park. "Texas Outdoor Family" has a special program every few months in the state parks of the area where park rangers provide camping equipment and teach camping skills to families who sign up to participate.
Yes
Not yet
Camping costs vary from primitive site to rv site plus they charge per person over 12years of age per day. Usually the marina does do a fireworks show to the west of the lake. NO FIREWORKS ALLOWED IN THE PARK.
Good question. Park personnel will not say anything if you take a pool and keep it on your campsite.
I'm not sure I went last week and it was closed ..
The Isle Du Bois swim beach will be closed until fall this year due to flood repairs and they're putting in a new playground. The swim beach at Johnson Branch will open once the water levels go down.
If you can camp Ay places already specific for camping has light and drinking water connection.
No. It will be closed for at least a month for renovations and for to high water levels. Call the park office for construction updates and opening dates.
The lake is past Denton TX. Which is North. Also depends where you are coming from.
Try Google maps they will give you voice and print directions..
Yes .Is it Open. Seven a.m Pay seven dollar .per person.
Yes, you can reserve a camp site and camp here!
No, just campsites. There are nearby motels/lodges, though.
They are a free loaner program. You must liad and haul the kayaks yourself. Life jackets and paddles available also.It is first come, first served basis starting at 9am when weather permits.
Ray Roberts Lake doesn't have any thing like that unfortunately.
They do not allow "long term". Like Lori said before you must change campsites every 14 days.

Sure can lots of space down by beach area

I have never seen one at Ray Roberts state parks. But if you call, the staff is always super friendly and helpful to answer questions!
If you go to a state park like Johnson unit or Isle De bois at the lake there is a $7 charge per person. A yearly pass can be purchased for $70. It gets the whole car in free. This pass is good for any state park in Texas No charge for parking.
Sorry, I am not going to fishing. But I saw somebody doing fishing.
You can alwaus call the park and ask and they could tell you what is available on the dates you are looking for
Of course, if you can camp even near the water there are spaces but you have to reserve in advance
No alcohol is permitted at the park. Park Rangers can give you a ticket for it.
No Wi-Fi is available at this park.
Yes it's open
Yes you can. $70 a year covers all the state parks.
