The tesla coil is the best and funnest attraction. Though the fossils, labs were all great too. Plenty of things for little kids as well.

What a fabulous place. We had no idea this was in the area but we’re camping in the area and picked up a brochure that had a write up. We decided to take a ride out there and spent a couple of hours looking through the museum, the reconstructed fossils looking and learning about the dig site. I only wish we had our granddaughter with us. It is a great place for kids. There are hands on activities. You can actually look into the labs where the archeologists are working. They were also showing a movie about Tesla, but we did not watch that. Great trip and well worth the visit. Only wish they had a better gift shop (more fossil-related things).

Can people dig for fossil

I am Uncreative | Oct 24, 2019
Gray Fossil Site | Oct 24, 2019

Currently, daily visitors can not dig for fossils. Although, we do have an interactive, mock dig pit for children. If you are interested, we have a volunteer program that allows volunteers to work in the dig pit as well as the prep lab but it is a longer term commitment and requires training. We are also working on a day-long special dig day that should be available late this summer. Teens and adults can sign up and participate along side our paleontologists as they dig for fossils and work on fossil material in the prep lab. More information coming soon!
