Excellent hike if you're looking for stream crossings and swimming holes. Bring water shoes.

Found this near there right off the road. Alot of glitter type rocks. Was a very good place for small kids to swim also.

Great hike mostly under rhododendrons, with creek crossings, a series of nice water falls, and where there are no rhododendrons you can find trillium, irises, and all kinds of forbes. On the way back, we saved ourselves two fords and followed an existing goat path, staying on the creek side. Plan more time than you think it will take. Creek crossings that at one point reached my upper thigh, are time consuming (shoe removal, careful wading) and the series of scenic falls and swimming holes invite you to overstay a short break.

Cold and challenging are a lil subjective. Its about 45 min downhill in bout an hour up hill back to car. This part of trail is more dynamic than challenging, to me personally. & It is mountain water but it's exhilarating to connect with the Earth. Be aware after big rains ++ The deeper pools at top of the jumping spot get early sun early shade. The larger wadding lower pools stay sunny longer ***Wear water shoes*** you must cross the river 4X to get to large hanging area. white circle = trail markers. .
It was open last week.
