Love this trail near the old college, a trail along the creek feeding lake Susan.

Super amazing place, tucked in nice and cozy in the best little town around!

Long trail, 9 miles up and back. Will probably take you at least six hours round-trip… Somewhat technically challenging with lots of rocks and roots but pretty well-maintained. The summit is somewhat anti-climactic, at least in the summertime when everything is grown up… Maybe 12 x 12‘ pad with a couple rocks, and no marking that you’re at the summit… I walked down a couple other trails from the summit wondering whether I had actually reached the summit, but it was clarified to me by some other veterans I met on the trail that yes that was actually it.

Beautiful place, little to no tourists. Mostly locals. Best left that way.

Questions & Answers

Was hiking 6/14/20 and my dog was attacked by a women's brown Poodle. My Black Lab seemed ok, so we didn't bother exchanging any info, but now my dog shows severe injuries/ is receiving surgery. Any info about poodle owner is appreciated!!

That's such a busy trail for their poodle to be off leash 😮 sorry to hear that

Is camping permitted off the hiking trail? There is a waterfall marked on the map for Graybeard and it looked like a cleared out area with a fire pit.
