I had the POEM procedure on 08/17/2022 at MUSC. The surgery was performed by Dr. Joseph Elmunzer. His experience, knowledge and expertise have basically given me my life back. The entire staff at MUSC that were involved with my care seemed to be genuinely concerned with my comfort and well being. Dr. Elmunzer and everyone were nothing short of perfect.

I had triple bypass surgery done at MUSC ART. Excellent care at every level of service from admissions to medical to dining and household. All staff performed at a high level while being very personable.

Our mother had to have emergency open heart surgery last Friday at Musc Ashley River Tower. We are not local, we are from Alabama. From Dr. Pope, his surgery team and JJ our nurse originaly from New York (loved her), we feel very blessed. I dont believe Ive ever had an experience with any other hospital like we did at Musc. Thank you so much!!!! The Berry’s from Alabama

I want to give a heartfelt thank you to the ART ER. We had an unexpected trip due to my daughter having GI Post Op complications on Friday afternoon. Obviously the busiest time off the week. At times there was standing room only in the waiting room but they staff stayed caring and professional. I especially want to think they overnight crew, guard & techs, I wish I would have gotten their names, that helped us get transportation at 3 am. transportation at 2 70

Yes. Generally speaking, children may visit with patients staying at MUSC facilities. Visits by children under the age of 12, however, should be coordinated with the patient's healthcare team and spokesperson. Children must be accompanied by an adult other than the patient at all times. Children are not permitted to stay overnight.
