positive thing first: we booked rooms for two nights and they agreed to refund the second night as one night is all we can take.... The hotel is under construction so there's no hotel bar open, no nothing... all you get is a small room without a fridge... elevator may be installed during this remodelling.... overall you're much better off with the RodewayInn down the road, probably half price... I stay roughly 60-80 nights a year in hotels (business and vacation) so yeah I think I have something to base this review on, not trying to bash this place but as of now, July 2022 it is not acceptable especially at the price. Maybe after this remodel it's better...

We needed a place to stay overnight for the Leadville 50. They were booked that night and when we arrived our room was still under construction because of some previous water damage. The staff was working overtime to make sure we had a nice room to stay for the night and they definitely came through for us. The customer service was gold standard and they went above and beyond for us. Our room was beautiful, our breakfast was delicious and the staff was incredible. Thank you for taking care of us. We'll definitely be back.

The hotel is under renovation, but they do their best not to interfere with the Guests. The Staff is top shelf. Each Staff Member seemed happy to be there and quite happy that you were a Guest at the Hotel. The hotel itself is quite interesting and full of history. The Mineral Restaurant was a great place for breakfast. Again the Staff were happy to serve and the prices were quite reasonable considering the high quality of food. We will be staying at the Delaware again on our next adventure in Leadville.

I had an interesting occurrence last month while staying at the Delaware Hotel. In the middle of the night, I awoke to a loud scratching, rustling noise coming from the room. I thought that maybe my friend had gotten up to use the bathroom but she was in her bed asleep. I didn't get up to investigate since I didn't see anything from my bed and went back to sleep. At 6 am, both of our cell phone alarms went off! We did not set our alarms for 6 am. This was our second stay at the hotel and I enjoy the historic look and decor and hope the new owners don't modernize it too much. I am happy to see that an elevator is being installed! I will return for future stays and look forward to seeing the renovation progress.
