If I could give negative stars I would. Went to ER for food related allergic reaction. Check in desk gave me so much attitude because I was struggling to talk and give her my information (my throat was swelling!). Had my vitals taken about 15 min after arrival, went to go sit in waiting room for another 30 min. Decided to leave - figured if the DR's don't think having an allergic reaction is serious, then I shouldn't worry. Took two days to breathe normally after incident. Only went to Aspirus because it was way closer than going to ER at Marshfield Clinic in Weston. Don't even waste your time coming here, make the extra drive elsewhere if you can - Marshfield Clinic ER is 1000% better and quicker to service emergencies. Some ladies in the waiting room were saying how they were in there 4-5 hours already.

We all know the quality of healthcare has run off the edge of the cliff, yet Aspirus Hospital found a way to one up the whole system. Where to start, feels like you are in a factory. Each person has one specialty and won't navigate out of their box. The hospitalist lacks basic ability to take what the patient is telling them and apply that to the treatment plan. They also can't plan out 2 steps ahead. Instead, they take the symptoms and put them in a computer program that tells them the treatment plan. Even when said treatment plan does more harm than good. They are slaves to the administrative system that dictates every step for them. Same symptoms 3 times landed me with ER visits. Difference is the first 2 had a symptomatic Covid results, given steroids for a day and sent home. Third time was a charm, no covid and oh we need to admit you. Facility was dirty. 2 to 3 hours for food and we are talking pre-packaged muffins. Nurses coming in smelling like the perfume counter at Macy's. Staff sitting at computers looking for places to live or things to do, no wonder it takes an hour to get a tums. Nurses withholding medications but marking you down as having it. Like wow they are bold. One nurse could swear was a meth addict, seen unmedicated kids with ADHD more functional them this nurse. You get new staff every 12 hours even though the same staff is working the same area, so you have to explain to each new person every 12 hours for why you are here and this and that. They get the small stuff all wrong and whole process seems like a money-making scheme. Makes you wonder how bad they mess up the big things.

My mom had a heart attack and was sent to Wausau Aspirus from Medford Aspirus by ambulance. Her experience with staff there was so horrendous that when my dad had a heart attack a year later there was no way we were going to send him to Wausau Aspirus Hospital to be abused the way she was by the nurses. When I left the room the Medford staff convinced him to be life flighted to Wausau instead of Marshfield saying that Marshfield wouldn't have a cath lab ready for him! The Doctor did a great job but the rest was a nightmare! The women at the front desk in both A and B were rude, nasty and incompetent. They said My dad had been moved to a room and we had to go to the other side of the hospital, so we did, he was not there,The women on that side rudely said they didn't have him in their system and we needed to go back again to the other side.We did this 5 times because THEY LOST MY PARENTS yet said they wanted mom out of there by 6 because visiting hours were over! Worst hospital experience of our lives! And did you notice that the answer to every single patient review IS THE SAME CANNED ANSWER? They don't even care enough to try to defend their horrendous behavior by using the SAME CANNED REPLY to every negative comment!

Went to ER for pain in back at 4:30 a m. Got seen about an hour later as I walked around ER waiting room in agony for an hour. Doc ordered tests, ordered morphine 2 hrs later. Then went home without telling me test results. I sat in ER room until 10:30 a m. Finally called patient liaison asked if my doctor had gone home in shift change and what my results were. She said he had gone home. Said she would take care of it. A doc came in a half hour later. Said I needed my appendix out. By 7:30 p.m. I went home with no appendix. Surgeon was great. The ER doctor for night shift, not so much. 15 hours I was there. Thank you patient liaison.

When my mom was in, we brought things in to the room. I don't know about direct mail, but us bringing things in with us was absolutely welcomed.
No, the hospital requires bank statements. Besides, if you can pay for quality care, why wouldn't you?
You can visit at almost any time but before 8:30pm is preferred. After 8:30 all but the ER entrance is locked and they make you sign in with security before you're allowed to go anywhere.
Yes, just speak with the hospital support staff for details.
Go get it looked at. Anyone answering this question is most likely not a Dr. If you want to ensure your health and safety, ensure you don't lose a finger, a Dr is what you need to go see. This forum shouldn't define if you go for medical help. Go now
There are also staircases located near the inpatient rooms
Visiting hours are unlimited, but quiet hours are after 8:30 pm.
