I want to compliment a Metro employee. Her name is Christina Helms and she was amazing. I showed up at her station at around 9pm tonight April 12 wanting to buy 4 metro day passes. I had no idea what I was doing. I went to Christina's window and instead of pointing where I need to go, she came out of her booth to help me. She helped me buy the 4 passes and then gave me a map and showed me where I need to transfer and where to get off for my final stop. She could have easily stayed behind her glass booth, but she didn't. She went the extra mile. And for someone like me who is visiting from out of state, who has never been on the metro, she was a great help. We need more Christina's!!!

Was a regular Metro rider in the 1980's.... Today's visit was efficient and dependable. Easy access to and from I-66 with good parking. AND those flimsy paper fare cards are GONE! New system with 'SmartPass' credit card sized card works really well. Visitors can get an unlimited one day pass. This Metro is really a blessing to the Washington region.

Yes, there is.
First train leaves at 7am but trains are only running between Vienna and ballston this weekend. You’ll need to transfer to silver line if you’re planning to go into DC..
Yes, you can do that on their website
Glory Days Grill is a sports bar less than one mile from the Vienna / Fairfax Metro Station.
Yes
Yes, you can get to Washington D.C. using the train from Vienna Metro Station. The cost depends on the time of day and the stop you get off at. It is likely to be between $3.50 and $6.00. You will have to purchase a smart trip card, that I think is an additional $5. You can get more specifics from the Washington Area metro website. wmata.com
Departure frequency: https://www.wmata.com/js/nexttrain/nexttrain.html#K08|Vienna/Fairfax-GMU You'll get the blue line at Rosslyn.
I just checked online and the last trip leaving Vienna is at 10:51, but you should double-check for where your destination is
Hi Henny Priastuti, The last trains to New Carrollton depart this station at: Sunday: 10:18 PM Monday thru Thursday: 10:48 PM Friday and Saturday: 12:18 AM
www.wmata.com has all the information you need, but a few tips: - There is a "schedule", but it's not really followed. Instead, trains run at given intervals that change throughout the day (peak vs non-peak) and vary by line. The intervals also vary by day of the week (weekend vs weekday). - If you're going to the zoo and starting your trip at Vienna/Fairfax-GMU, you'll need to transfer to the red line at Metro Center. - Check the zoo website for metro tips -- the zoo is directly between 2 stations and they have suggestions for which one to use when you're arriving vs departing (the zoo is on a hill, and if you follow their directions you won't have to walk uphill in either direction!)
Hi Starloey! No, the orange line does not have the B, D, F, or M trains.
It's a good distance but there is a free GMU shuttle and the Fairfax Connector. It's probably 5 miles as the crow flies.
They have an outdoor parking lot as well as a garage but the garage did not fit my high top conversion van. They have call center there and 24hours is fine.
Sure can..its pretty easy. There is a stop labeled for Nstionals Park.
Purchase a smart trip card and add money to it that covers your fare
No, it's $2 on Saturday
Yes
Actually, there are spots that open only after 10am specifically for people heading in after the morning rush (i.e. tourists). I have never had a problem finding a spot posting there. I think it's 10 am, but check the site. I want to say it's like $5 maybe? It wasn't much.
Take any train to East Falls Church Station (2 stops) then switch to silver line to Whelie Reston then catch a shuttle bus to the airport at the last stop.
There are some information about the fairfax connector at the various stops on the north side and south side entrances to the station. For overall info however you will have to look online or catch one of the buses as they tend to have flyers that have full schedules. I think some of these flyers are available inside the station but you may have to ask someone working at the booth.
