The Office is open, no need for appointments ahead. The plus is for standard SSN activities you’re only waiting around 20 minutes to be seen. Generally, a bit arbitrary with all the rules for where to stand and what not but it’s expected at places like this. The big knock is the lady I dealt with was super rude and misinformed. She wrongly turned me away stating I didn’t have the appropriate documents. After connecting (getting bounced around) with SSN National line, USCIS and Customs - I was informed I was correct and had to go back and do the whole thing again. Advice: if you know what you need, what your requirements are - be assertive. If that fails, ask for Mr. G (either a supervisor or code word to get additional support at the actual window).

The security guards are cool either its the different guards when I visited or the persons giving reviews against the security are the one who annoyed them first
Sam
Super rude security personnels who does nothing but yell at confused people trying to get help. The clerks were a lot better. The number notification board is not in sync and gives the wrong information.

Worst place you can imagine. Each worker is more nasty and careless than the other, such an ugly face of bureaucracy

I think their are fraud, their just wants the money ,you have to go to the social security office to get it in which I did and when I asked for my money back they said its none refunded ,social security said their getting plenty of people complaining about them and only you can get an replacement card from them and u have to come in person
After calling for 3 days straight I finally got through using an out of state phone number (don't know if that helped). The earliest appointment they could give me for an emergency was February 24 (this was a few weeks ago) UPDATE Had my appointment on feb 24, 4-6 weeks now for the new card to arrive. I started this process in early January and ill be getting the new card hopefully sometime in April. 4 month process for an emergency replacement. We live in a third world city
No
Hi I’m having the same issue have u found a solution?
You can try calling to make an appointment if you can get through, but you can make an appointment by going to a specific office, I know the Brooklyn one is in 175 Pierpont(something like that) . They say no physical appointment unless it's in dire need or emergency.. you just tell them anything that sounds urgent just to get the appointment, a lot of people need it urgently now that unemployment is asking for photos of front and back of it.. those who lost it won't get unemployment until they get it out
What kind of ID do I need
You don't need proof of address but you will need 2 forms of ID
Keep trying.i have been able to talk to a few representatives over the past month.
You should be! They lost my passport
Hi! I called to the Brooklyn office and they explained me, that I need to send my documents to to the Maryland office. I tried to get a new SSN card, since I lost my late one. I have sent my documents to Brooklyn office before the call and didn't get any answer 😂
I am still waiting for my documents back. It has been two months already.
No. you will get a receipt confirming you applied but the card comes in the mail within 2 weeks of applying
not appointment
You have to make an appointment, I believe only appointment service is exist , for appointment you can search on Google there's a list you can choose one location and call them directly from Google phone number they will answer.
The best is to check the Social Security website. It tells you what you can do. If no luck then call to speak to a representative, they will help with h all questions.
No, you have to make appointment first by calling them then you will go their with the documents for the name change. Otherwise they just refuse service without appointment
You have to call to make an appointment.
They supposed to send it back with social security card
Yes, but last time I was there it was by appointment only
Unfortunately you have to be extremely persistent to get anywhere with this office. I've waited on hold for hours at a time over the course of several days before finally getting an answer (that wasn't just static or getting immediately hung up on). Good luck - you're gonna need it.
I’d travel to the building entering from the Pierrepont street side before the office itself opens, (around 30 mins or so) go to the 6th floor, you’ll likely be able to speak to a security guard at the office, politely plead your case explaining you haven’t been able to reach anyone to make an appointment and explain what you’re looking to accomplish. You’re subject to still be turned down but in my experience that’s your best bet, while still calling that office and others.
I would recommend calling in the morning Trust me you'll get an answer also if you go to the office early in the morning you might get let in if it not too busy like no later than 9:00 am
You have to call and schedule an appointment or mail your application with your original documents
They turned me away when I came it without an appointment. They are not answering the phone.
The best time to call is to start at 7:00 am. They answer immediately. Recommended security. And so it was.
Have you been able to get an appointment when you walked in?
Yes, but by appointment. Usually on Monday
They have been messing up, to be honest.. the workers themselves are theives, probably taking peoples documents and selling it forward.. you really can't trust anyone in this period of time
Yes
Can I go to office to replace social security card?
No. You have to go to the 7th floor.
Yeah, just make a new email.. you'll need an email address to do anything online stuff with them.
Its closed on all national holidays
If he died I'm sure he will not need one.
i see that it says 7am
No
Address soc.sec.office in Brooklyn
I received mine in about 7 days
No! It's free
if you did it online it takes long. My daughter went in person and got hers within a week.
Now that I think about it, this office is not really for financial social security but for social security documents. Definitely call the hot line to get a rep to give you details regarding your case.
there is no charge for it
Of cource! That's the location you get it.
Unlikely. Most probably it will be sent to your address.
