The ticket salesperson should advise you that you have enough points for a free movie or refreshments and ask if you want to use them. That has been my experience, although I have a lot of accumulated points.

I find 3d movies to be a waste. Its gimmicky. They charge you extra money for what seems like 2 maybe 3 scenes in which 3d was warranted out of a 2hr movie. I tried it a few times and only got a few objects flying my way or blood splatter. Not worth it.
