I started volunteering with Neighbor Ride almost a year ago. I love it. I love the feeling of being able to do something so easy and simple to do (driving) and have it positively effect so many older Howard Countians. Whether it's providing means to get the medical care they need, or giving them the ability to attend social functions to help keep their minds alert and spirit high, or just a ride to the salon to have their hair done. It's easy to start, and very easy to do: look at the list of folks who are looking for a driver, find a ride that fits your schedule, and click "Accept Ride." Boom, that's it. And the staff of NR are the best. Always quick to help out with whatever you need. I guess I'll be a driver until I eventually become a client.

This is yet another example of the civility mantra upheld by Howard County residents. Neighbor Ride's drivers help the county's senior citizens overcome transportation challenges and I for one am extremely grateful the service exists. Responsive, punctual, safe and a rare opportunity to engage with a caring team.
