Just moved to Northern Virginia from Hawaii. Registered for Ft Belvoir VA they said it takes 24 hours. Turns out the registered me for Sun City Arizona??? Called back to set up primary doc after the mix up was fixed and the person was whispering and not speaking clearly. All I know is I have an appointment date but no time and unsure with who because the person hung up. Took 38 minutes to get a live person. So now I have to do that again.

My experience at this VA clinic with Dr king has been nothing but stellar which is why I stay . I’m sorry to hear about others experience but I see in reviews one of my fellow veterans suggesting the use of secured messenger.. this is a great way to contact them and get a response because they are held accountable to this electronic forum also my healtheVet is good. You can communicate using you smartphone. I hope things get better for everyone. Please keep in mind, this is also the same thing that’s happening in the civilian sector (worse). These people are human.. they have lives, families and needs just like we do. Every medical entity is getting slammed/inundated with demands and request… things will get better in time. Stay safe

Acces to Care seems to be a challenge at the VA Clinic at Fort Belvoir. In my experience, by the Clinic not answering the phones and not setting the request for appointments submitted thru their online platform, Fort Belvoir's VA Clinic is neglecting the beneficiaries. This is very unfortunate and places the patients at risk. The VA Clinic appears to be in need for a good practice manager with the desire and ability to fix it. Suggest to reprioritize and resource accordingly. This Clinic has s strong potential for success. rm

Back of the house staff is good, and when you are in person staff are polite. Don't bother with calling them though - they do not answer calls at this office. Have yet to find a work around to get through to the clerks without driving in.

Can you go there for emergencies

I don't believe so. As a Retired Uniformed Servicemember, I know that never wouldn't consider the VA Outpatient Clinic as an option; because, it's for routine appointments with a PCM. The VA Outpatient Clinic is staffed with folks who can make appointments and answer some questions. Now, if I was experiencing an Emergency-type situation, as a TriCare Prime enrollee, I would get myself to the Ft. Belvoir Community Hospital's Emergency Room STAT.
