My father in law was here for comfort care as he passed in their hospice program. The nurses told us everyday about treatment and how he did while we were not there. We were allowed to bring my father in laws dog so he got to spend time with him before he passed. Our loved one was always clean hair brushed and gown changed, he was always comfortable and happy there. When the time did come and he did pass the nurses were there very quickly and verified he had passed and provided hugs and talked to us and helped with the plans to have him transported and gave us a enough time with him until we were ready to have him moved. During hospice care you are free to go anytime, stay the night or do check ins. I would tell anyone who needs a loved one to be taken care of to use this facility

I am so fortunate to work at Friendship Village Tempe. Our employees are so kind and dedicated to serving our residents, their guests and each other! As great as the employees are, it's the residents that are the best part of the village! The spirit and culture of the community is like nothing I've ever experienced or knew was a possibility. It truly is amazing how rewarding it is to work at a place that has such a life of it's own. It is a privilege to work here and care for such wonderful people.

Skilled nursing is the right choice for those who require attentive medical care, but don't have the acute needs that make hospitalization necessary. It provides a higher level of care than assisted living, whether the need is more hands-on assistance with routine activities, rehabilitation services or long-term care.
It's specifically for those who need greater care while recovering from a hospital stay, or for those who need longer-term care. At Friendship Village Tempe, compassionate services are provided around the clock by licensed professionals. We also offer custom programs that encourage maximum social interaction and preserve dignity.
Dementia refers to the loss of cognitive functions (thinking, reasoning, the ability to remember) that are severe enough to interfere with a person's daily functioning. This group of symptoms is not a disease, per se, but may accompany certain diseases or conditions. Dementia is irreversible when caused by disease or certain injuries. It may be partially or fully reversible when caused by drugs, alcohol, depression or imbalances in certain substances, such as hormones or vitamins. Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia. It is a progressive, degenerative disease of the brain, characterized by loss of function and death of nerve cells in several brain areas, leading to loss of recent memories and new learning first, and eventually old memories, too.
At Friendship Village, memory care services are offered in both our assisted living and skilled nursing neighborhoods. If your loved one's need change, we're equipped to enhance the level of care seamlessly. It's part of our continuum of care that helps us serve residents and their families at the highest level.
It's similar in that it helps restore strength and mobility. Occupational therapy helps people adapt to their social and physical environment through education in things like dressing, memory training and coordination exercises.
We offer a full continuum of care. That means, in addition to assisted living, we provide memory care and skilled nursing. These programs provide round-the-clock care for someone who needs long-term supervision or support, or for individuals recovering from illness or injury.
Whether you are concerned about yourself or a loved one, it's best to start with a physician's assessment. You can then match needs to the right level of assistance. When help with daily tasks is needed -- taking medicines, bathing, dressing, meals, transportation and housekeeping -- assisted living can be the answer. Rest assured, you'll find top-quality services at Friendship Village Tempe's Nunnenkamp Center.
Life Care is a financial contract and plan that provides all the services and amenities of independent living, with lifetime access to a continuum of care. At Friendship Village Tempe, this includes assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care. All the care is provided on our campus, removing the need for disruptive moves if needs ever change.
Think of the monthly fee as a consolidation of all the bills and costs of living in a house. Your monthly fee will pay for all maintenance, housekeeping, meals, water, cable, electricity, unlimited use of common spaces and campus amenities and much more. The amount you pay depends on the size of residence you choose and whether you live with a second person. A second person pays a significantly lower monthly fee.
I'm not quite sure I just work there.
Yes, the fence around the pool is locked. There is a gate code to get inside the pool.
They were sold before completion. ☺
Tom, there are a number of options. Your fee will be based on the size and type of residence you choose and if you want a traditional life care arrangement or a modified one. You should ontact the marketing department for more specific info. I can tell you from my personal research of some 40 plus communities that Friendship Village is the most affordable when you account for the residence, the amenities, food, and care.
