The best dorm at ASU

If I could leave 0 stars on the customer service and how staff handles issues here I would. The unprofessionalism is almost embarrassing. I came in as a freshman during fall 2020, and had a pretty smooth experience until about the second day when things started going down hill and never recovered. Being an out-of-state student, I was already stressed about moving so far from family and having no one. Once I was all moved in, I finally decided to go eat at the dining hall when I encountered one of the rudest men I have met at my life; who was apparently the manager???? Screaming at every scared freshman to stay 6 ft apart and being incredibly rude about every little thing. If it were my choice, this guy would’ve been fired. He could’ve been a lot nicer, especially because it was the first day and no one really knew what they were doing. I felt like I was a little kid. I couldn’t believe it, and after this, me and my roommate didn’t go back for awhile because of how overwhelmed we were. Then, my suitemates got covid who we shared a bathroom with and ASU did NOTHING about it until we went down to the front desk for the SECOND time telling them how uncomfortable we were after nothing was done. Personally, I am not a mean-spirited person and I hate being rude to people, but at ASU, that’s the only way things seem to get done. I had to say that if we didn’t get moved to a new room, we would get our parents involved. Then, of course, we were finally given a temporary room. A few weeks later, I got covid myself and the day that I tested positive ASU called me and told me i had to leave even though my suite mates and roommate were gone and I was getting meals delivered and was already quarantining there at this point. My germs were already everywhere there and I hadn’t gone anywhere so it made no sense to make me leave. However, I was told i had to leave that night (it was already dark) and wheel my things by myself in a cart to a couple blocks away to the quarantine dorms that were infested with cockroaches. Where was this energy when my suite mates had covid? Now I don’t know about you, but personally, when i’m sick, I don’t want to walk outside anywhere, let alone blocks away carrying all of my things at NIGHT. they told me I had no choice and had to leave. Then, I come back this spring semester in hopes of giving this place a second chance, as everyone messes up and this covid stuff is new for everyone, creating stress. Then guess what? The room above mines bathroom FLOODED through the floor down the walls and soaked all of our belongings in our bathroom and room with TOILET WATER (including food, clothes,tv), and guess what? yup! ASU once again disappoints and tells us that there isn’t anything that they can do until Monday and that we have to leave our room permanently, and that me and my roommate who has been my rock through all of this bullsh*t probably won’t be able to be put in the same room as me. Never once making sure that we’re okay mentally, as this is a lot to handle and i have a ton of other things going on in my life right now on top of hours of homework. My major is also super hard and i’m in a ton of hard classes. Honestly, at this point, if ASU doesn’t go above and beyond to fix this then i will be moving back home for the semester and then transferring. I am not proud at all to be a sun devil and for how things have gone in the past, I don’t see this being resolved the way it should be. I will update, but from what I know in the past, ASU does not care about its students!!!!!!!!!

I visited back in the day several times. It def needed some TLC, but now it looks great. My daughter will be at Manzanita in the Fall 2020 to continue our Sun Devil legacy! Go Devils!! 🤘

A2 is the one that's closer to the window. A1 is the one when you walk in (closest to the door).

I think my tv is about 24 inches and it works with the space pretty well. I think anything over 36 would be too big
