The horses were very well cared for and were well behaved. Our trail guide, Zack Mellow, was very friendly and engaging. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting the Fort Worth Stockyard area who wants to ride a well behaved horse and take a low key ride with nice scenery showing the City of Fort Worth in the distance and along the Trinity River (on the 1 hour ride). We highly recommend!!

It was so much fun going in horse ride yesterday. I volunteer to work with people and horses. I hope I get to work there.

Loved seeing the shops, carriage ride, the shoot out, train ride and the long horns. It is outdoors, so it was hot (good ole Texas heat, lol). I found a tea shop that was amazing!! It had other things as well, but I loved the wide selection of tea. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The carriage ride was fun. The also had a tour with an open buckboard type wagon. The shoot out with the sherriff, deputy and (of course) robbers, was a little gun show. The actors had fun with it as well. There was a great band that played. They were great. The long horns were fun to see. They kept it small for safety and the cowboys were good at keeping the cattle in line as well as some overzealous observers. 😉😁 They were professional and kind. The train ride was also fun. The ticket holder was very informative and nice. On the train, everyone was friendly and kind. They seemed to love what they did. They had women suffragettes on board. They went from car to car passing out pamphlets and giving a brief history regarding women rights to vote. Everywhere we went, we had a great time. If you have time, the Cowgirl Museum is a must see!! The staff is very informative, friendly and so willing to help. They had lots of info, pics, some photography that depicted Annie Oakly at a show as well as scenes from the Wild Bill Hickok show. Lots of history and some things donated from Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert. They had history from the 1800s to the 2000s. Highly recommend seeing both the stockyards and the museum!!

We do keep it at a walk for the safety of the horses and riders. No trotting or running allowed.
Absolutely! They are well kept and fed. We have a weight limit, age limit and allow walking only.
I would say try and call the stock yards event center to see because usually around the holidays they have pony rides, but I have seen them on occasional weekends as well, so to be sure the event center should be able to help more with that.
We offer walk-up only, no reservations.
We do not decorate our horses for their safety but the decorations within the Stockyards are beautiful during the holidays.
Visit our website at www.stockyardsstables.com and send us an email.
Our horses are great for beginners and those with little riding experience.
We do not offer pony rides and our age limit is 11years and older.
