We went in to pre-order the new iPhone 14 and cancel a phone line also. The store employee told us we can't cancel a phone line even if we pay for it. He stated that you can only add a phone line but never decrease a phone line. The only way you can decrease is to close out your entire account and open a brand new account with new phone numbers. I found out that the AT&T store employee was not being honest or forthright. I can cancel a phone line at any time. I don't have to be stuck paying for 4 phone lines when I only need 3 lines.

Get on a waiting list for what? You can make an appointment to talk to someone at the AT&T store or they do take walk-ins.
