I am not sure where they find these "people" to work for them....has got to be volunteers or something because the way they don't communicate at all is very odd. It's ironic this is called "community advocates" when NONE of the people there ( if there are actually workers there) advocate for anything. Reading all of the prior reviews it's actually pretty sad. Considering it's going on 4 years now of Covid, the tired excuse they say on the phone "Closed due to Coivd" is old now. These people "work" from home? I highly doubt. If you guys aren't going to actually work, I honestly see no point in keeping this place open especially if there's no one working & it takes like 5-7 months JUST to receive some type of communication.....NOT even a solution...a simple follow up takes that long...it's really side eyeing....please hire people that actually care, rather than looking at this as just a "job" . I got the help I needed. The person that helped me was kind and understanding

Community Advocates is a place that help people with a lot in their life. Energy assistance, rent assistance, are two programs that I know they help me with in my life been here in MKE
Wai Moe
Currently waiting in the waiting area to get help, I was the only one sitting here waiting to be called into an interview room after 4 people have gone before me. Two of the interviewers go into each others rooms to gossip about clients, so I think okay they must call me after they’re done. Nope, both of them leave for lunch collectively and no one’s here to help anymore. Mind you, they emailed ME to come in or talk over the phone to get help. To think they’re suppose to be there to help people in need, but don’t even work out lunches so at least one person is there to help. How very disappointing.

If you want out immediately go stay at a hotel or motel weekly fees till you get your bank together
Yes, they have resourses in a program for evictions there just have to be money left in it to be able to help people being evicted, u will have to call and find out if that program is still available asap!
I dont know. Sorry. I would go to the website on your phone or call the number on the website
I would look on my own and ask cause alot of private Renter's are not open to Rent assistance. Ask for the listing of Renter's properties associated with the Security deposit program!!! They are Renter's that you know are affiliated with them.
Try Vincent de Paul
(Community advocate) can help
Been having similar issues. Still nothing. Don't forget to give your 5 day notice
They may be able to help, and if not through them personally, I believe they are able to help with referrals.
Community advocacy does not handle this. You can on line and look for Milwaukee public assistance.
You first have to be served a 5day notice, then after that he/ has to take you to court.
You call Community advocate for any landlord /tenant issues ask for housing information
She's right. Call 211 and it usually takes 6 months or longer.
Call n ask to talk to someone in housing, or a lawyer. They might be able to help, not sure.
A 5 day notice but you have to go to Umos for that Community Advocatea doesn't do that they have a program to help with security deposit
I dont know about them but i go to the state building right down the street 4th floor and they do free tax preparation....7th wells..
I've been in the similar situation myself ask for Ms. Flora at community advocates she helped, just when I was about to give up on humanity she found a way to get my rent paid. I know it's hard right now but BELIEVE with all your heart and pray as a family that God will see y'all through this situation. I promise you it will get better, I promise! In July I received my 5 day eviction notice then on July 17th my brother was murdered I felt like God was against me, but little did I know God was carrying me and told me to find peace of mind in this storm and God will do the rest! And when I tell you, somebody paid 2 months of my rent for me and I received my food stamps and I was approved for my unemployment! God is good Sis! Don't lose site of that! I promise you'll be alright, ask God to take, if you can't hold on anymore. Peace and Love to you and your family a blessing is coming your way I promise!🙏❤ I'm praying for y'all.
Yes they do
Call 211, check with the salvation army and also the United Way. Good luck!

Yes!!
First of all I would do is go down to Social Security there's a lot of paperwork you have to fill out now she has a Milwaukee County Target case manager
Yes emergency assistance can be applied for every year
Community Advocates will be able to help you.

We've been waiting since December the check has been cut but the state it self has not sent it off community advocate can't do much once you've been approved. They still paying people from. When covid had started they just backed up.
Community Advocates are a joke bad business I got a case from last year January and they still haven't sent a check to my land lord now I have court. I will never again to unprofessional

Yes they should be able to contact your supervisor and verify your not working if you let them know you been trying and he has not provided this information.
The tenant
You can go straight to the mission on 18th and Wells Street. They will let her straight in without any problems. That mission is for women or women with kids and men!
They will but there conditions and as one other person said your landlord has to be onboard with the the terms. As long as it's in Milwaukee county.
Go to community advocatesso they can talk to gas and electric company do it soon take your paperwork for the machine you are using
I would just stop down there at the Building and speak with them personally. They move very quickly and I'm sure someone can answer your concerns. I applied by appointment with proof and paperwork on hand. Got approved SAME DAY. Good luck to You!
Yes.
Have you gotten a disconnect notice
Yes call them for more information
Not sure sdc is.
Yes I believe they do have a rent assistant program specifically for senior. They also have a energy assistant program called the pilot program where they pay the majority of your bill and then you pay the rest and from then forth they put you in a set amount where they pay half of your bill each month. Well i hope this was informative!!!!!
Contact the city building inspector or go to community advocates and see someone at legal aid
Yeah you still have to go to court with the 5 day notice i would ask the judge to be put on a stipulation if its rent related ....and also call community Advocates for assistance too. Also emergency assistance if you havent got it yet you can get it once a year. It pays towards your rent and late fees if you have children with you
Electric, you can call they will let you know
Call 211, try the salvation army, joy house
Yes
Find a place first that u can afford and ask the landlord if they take anything from community advocate
They help by making arrangements with land lord about security but you still have to pay it. Some each month with your rent
Same day
Call who sent it out or the post office wrar its coming from
I..can't get. Rent. Assatisance. because I owl. On a. Personal loan payments. to check. cashing on capital $500.00
Sometimes they are open early but i dont know what days hunny
It's possible, but it depends on your situation(s). And there NUMEROUS loopholes and hoops a person must jump through in order for them to really give someone the help they need. All I know is when I went there recently (I've been there before), the system was horrible, they were supremely rude and cold, and it took forever for an appointment. Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to Community Advocates. In my opinion, it's not worth it and you're better off finding another/better way. I hope and pray that you get the help you need and deserve, however, Community Advocates should be your last resort. Not worth the aggravation. God bless.
Yes
I don't know about that
they have a timeframe you must go ..i would call community advocates or the modestneeds foundation look online..
They give u advice when u bring in paperwork. If you want someone for felony or misdemeanor court you will need to hire a lawyer...
Payday loans might be quicker...
Once you go to court the judge usually will give you so long to get out before the Sheriff puts you out! Good luck!
Your lease, pay stubbs, etc things they'll want to see

Call the landlord/ tenant hotline. Sorry I don't have the number.
You wouldnt be able to after May 15th. Now, you have to qualify for crisis fund. You can call them and they can tell you how to do that.
If your landlord/ building manager won't do anything go to the states attorneys office and get a peace bond. If she doesn't stop she can be charged.
What are you going for?
Current Utility bill, ss# for everyone in household, last 3 months of income, id, and birth certificate of kids just in case.
Give Community Advocates and ask. Also dial 211 ask them for guidance and help with assistance. Good luck!
I'm sorry I have no idea. Why not Google it? Good luck!
Not sure but legal assistance at Community Advocates can tell you! Good luck.
I go down to community advocate ask questions
You need to talk to your landlord then if he/she won't help you call legal aide or dial 211 and ask them what they suggest. Good luck!
Some landlords will work with potential tenants. He must have a full months rent and a partial deposit. The rest could be made as added to the monthly rent until it's paid! He must talk to landlords, usually privately owned buildings. Good luck.
Just call and ask is all I can say. Good luck!
You need to apply for SSI I find out a lawyer to help you out
Just like you just explain your situation go in and talk to someone they all type of resources from housing to education to helping with gas and electric. I recommend the downtown location.

Not sure about that, but you can call them and ask.If not they will direct you on where you can get help.
It depends on when she was laid off and when they helped her last year. They are very helpful tell her to go down there.
Yes they can assist with a lot of different things and if they cannot they can direct you in the direction where you can get the help that you seek
Hopefully, don't call go there and find out.
You can go to court for that. You can also hold off paying rent until they do fix your heat. But remeber to keep what you would pay in rent in a special account. You should ask a lawyer about some of those things.
Call impact at 211 they can help you find help
o
They can give you resources for counseling I would go down there and ask some questions about counseling most likely to it would give you some information on it 211 would give you resources to
