My daughter was ‘kidnapped’ by her father when she was an infant and I took the Judge’s Orders from our divorce and custody arrangement to get them enforced. I got her back four terrifying hours later but I would never allow my children go anywhere I didn’t know where they would be, spouse/ex, friend, stranger, to no one, but we learn the hard way that sometimes our ex-spouses will just take off with them knowing they are breaking that Order. Hold on to your heart when they leave you and hold onto your children closer when they are with you.

The legal aid there is very helpful given you speak to someone. However when you call they will take your info in an application style and direct you to an according division and then they will have someone contact you.

You need the death certificate copied and sent to where your payments would go. So they can stop billing your parents. If there is a mortgage you may have to pay it in full to receive the home. I have seen two friends go through this. And a third friend lost his parents home due to the inability to pay the reverse mortgage in full. A fourth friend just kept the bills in her parents name cause she couldn't pay the mortgage but can afford the monthly payment. So be careful.

I went in July 2018 and they called me in October. It is now February and they have not yet gotten him served. Takes time to go thru all the channels in order to get it done right. You just need to call and ask what is going on.
