Visiting from TX and while doing a tour of NC stumbled across the Call Family Distillery. It was only 9:00am - the app said "OPEN," but as we got closer to the door there was a CLOSED sign in the window. I peeked in, and the owner politely opened the door for us and welcomed us in. He offered us free samples of their award-winning Apple Pie shine and Forbidden Fire. FANTASTIC STUFF and SUPER-SMOOTH. He showed us around the facility with all their new renovations, as well as their distilling operations. The shop is complete with very old turn-of-the-century copper stills (out of commission), old family heirloom restored jalopies used to transport shine back in the day, and of course all of their state-of-the-art stills. GREAT STOP if you're in Wilkesboro. Highly recommended. And don't forget to try that shine!

Saw a post on Facebook about an awesome looking t-shirt they are selling. Instant Messaged them to get more info, and they quickly came back saying to call Laura at the distillery. Made the call the next day, and spoke with Laura, who was wonderful! She found the right size, I paid for it, and she shipped it for me too! Laura was great, provided great service, and the shirt fits perfect! Hope to get to visit in person soon!! Thank you so much!!

Great tour and tasting. Brian Call opened his doors to us on a Tuesday — normally not open for visitors. The history was fascinating and the moonshine was excellent. If your time in Wilkesboro is limited, this should be at the top of places to visit.

We had a great time touring. Distillery was very clean, informative an friendly. The tasting room beautiful an the samples amazing. I look forward to returning for their new samples. 5 stars isnt enough I would give them a 10.
