My chicks arrived in time and very aware, I ordered 10 and 1 died but it was probably due to the long trip. They are thriving and they are very cute. We ordered silkies and got mixed colors. I will recommend this hatchery. Great customer service.

This was my first time ever ordering chicks through the mail. The customer service was always available and very helpful with not only making some corrections, but giving me advice on the health of the babies. I really appreciate them going a step farther to ensure I was comfortable and that the babies arrived quick and healthy. Thank you I will order again from Hoovers Hatchery.

UPDATE 2: Just received a phone call in response to my email. They offered to refund or replace the order. So for now I'm changing my star rating from one star to three. UPDATE: It's been over 24 hours and still no response from Hoover's. First time ordering from Hoover's. I usually order from Ideal but they were out of the breeds I wanted until the end of May. Ordered 8 Dominique hens, 5 Dominique Roosters, 8 Black Australorp Hens, 5 Black Australorp Roosters. I received 15 black colored chicks (could be Dom or BA) and 8 very yellow chicks. No idea what these are. I have no confidence that the 15 black chicks I received are Dom or BA - hen or rooster. Immediately took photos of what I received as I was putting them in the brooder. Sent an email to Hoover's. 4 hours later - no response. Ideal has never mixed up any of my orders. Ideal always responds very promptly. My local farm and feed store highly recommended Hoover's but I'm not at all impressed.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience with Hoover’s Hatchery. I ordered 30 birds, but the delivery took longer than expected; therefore, a few chicks died upon arrival. Vivian, customer service rep, was extremely nice. She replied very quickly to my email and sent me another batch to replace the lost ones. So far, all of them are strong and healthy. I will certainly order again. Thank you so much!

They won’t eat the plant , they will dig in the dirt, they will eat the seeds, However that is not to say they won’t destroy plants. They absolutely will devastate them! But they are worth it, fence in your plants they will stay out.
That's a great question and I would like to know also. Try calling their home office or visiting their website. They are extremely cordial and informative 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
Hi Jenn, we hatch once per week on tuesdays (with the exception of this week because of the 4th, we hatched on Monday this week) and TSC shipments are scheduled for the following Tuesday after you order. They birds are then hatched and shipped and it will take 2 mornings to get to your post office.
Hi Michelle, the short answer is that Midnight Marans are hybrids so there can and will be different colorations in their feathering.
Joyce, you can keep your fertilized eggs for as long as you want but just remember the hatch-ability rate decreases every day you don't have the egg in the incubator.
HI Cheyenne, Our chicks are less than a day old when we ship them.
Hi Benjamin, The amount of weeks it takes a chicken to maturity varies between breeds. Our heritage breeds can take longer than a typical hybrid or sex-link chicken to reach maturity. However most chickens take around 22-23 weeks. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to give us a call!
Yes, that's what we did
Yes, Hoover Hatchery still offers free shipping.
Hello Clara- we do not have Chocolate Buffs- you can find all of our breeds here https://hoovershatchery.com/shop_now.html
No, I would recommend contacting your Hatchery about it. They may refund your money or send you more chicks.
Maybe ask TSC that…
Hello- we do! Here's where you can find them on our website https://hoovershatchery.com/GoldenLacedWyandotte.html
Hello Katherine, we only vaccinate upon request. So unless you requested for them to be vaccinated they are not. It is completely your choice to use either medicated feed or non-medicated feed. Thankyou!
Hello- we have only our standard breeds available this time of year- you can find all of our availability here https://hoovershatchery.com/baby-chicks.html
No, as long as they are moving they should be ok. Still monitor them closely. They should show hatching activity soon. Have fun with your baby chicks!
Hello- we do. You can request one here https://hoovershatchery.com/catalog.html
We ship day old baby chicks and ducklings.
We do not sell chicken- turkey pluckers. Just the birds
HI Maryam, unfortunately we do not ship internationally at this time. Thank you for reaching out!
Make sure you clean the chicken coop it helps and if it still does not stop the fly's maybe try fly traps
Yes they come vaccinated and thwu also do beak trimming if you specify that is what you want
Newly hatched chicks still have a now internal yolk sac for a few days but will need water as soon as they arrive. As to the shipping question they arrive usually with heating packs if shipping to a cold region. They arrive at your local post office in a few days and water and food can be introduced then. Hope that helps
Chicks must stay at 95 degrees or so for first couple weeks, they will need a heat lamp, chick starter and room temperature water.
Hi Mount Olympus, Yes you can purchase directly from us. You can also select one of each kind of bird to put in your order if you'd like. However we have a minimum of 15 birds. A minimum of 10 birds is something that we only offer to TSC customers. Thanks so much!
You should be able to call the hatchery or email photos. They have great customer service.
You can check hovers hatchery online shop to check when they start selling tho type of birds I am not sure they tell they don't sell them at the time , can call them :) and for the chicks you have at least buy 15 chicks but they don't have to be all same
Hi Candace, We no longer sell hatching eggs. Thank you for reaching out to us!
The eggs were fertilized.
Yes hover hatchery does with all birds that they sell
Hi Tigger, Hoover’s raises their parent flocks on small Amish family farms across the state of Iowa and in Missouri. They have great customer service too and always guarantee their birds!
We didn't vaccinate our group of 40 and they all stay healthy. We use Apple cider vinegar in their water.
Keep them locked in the coop 4 about 2 to 3 week until they get comfortable then you will have no more trouble out of them
Call them
Start with little then increase but don't do to much
