We enjoyed a beautiful day walking the trails, touring the grounds, all while also seeing a book gathering of local authors! The kids playground was a highly for our kiddos!

One of the nicest place for a day trip. A small farm house, may be you have seen that many times in your dreams but never expected it to exist in real world. Not very exciting, yet very close to heart- beautiful! The late January winter evening: an unplanned respite, a cup of tea was the only missing thing to enjoy the mysterious evening.

Amazing. Down to earth and nature. Historic with a wonderful and friendly tour. You can walk the grounds on your own but house tours are only at certain times with guide so check web site before going.

A bit off the beaten path. But if you are a fan of the author and poet Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings or remember the book/movie “The Yearling”, then this is a must see. $3/person for a wonderful tour of her house. Our tour guide, Peggy was excellent. Walk the grounds and see the orange trees, tenant house, chickens, ducks, garden. We loved it!

Thank you for your interest in Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park. Yes, small dogs are welcome on the park grounds, whether on a hand held leash or in a stroller, provided they are under your control at all times. Small dogs are also permitted inside the historic house during guided tours as long as they can be hand carried or if in a stroller, as long as the stroller is small enough to navigate through the house. Dear Mrs. Porter, Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have a campground at Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Historic State Park. The closest state park with camping is Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, which is only about 12 miles away. Visit them on the web at: https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/paynes-prairie-preserve-state-park. We hope so see you soon at Florida's State Parks!
