Wonderful little state park. A little more private (lake-wise) vs at clear lake state park. The campground was great! Plenty of shaded areas. Just wish some of your fellow campers could've been a little more respectful late at night, with being so loud. Other than that, really enjoyed the beach = again, more private and walking out into the lake wasn't covered with ROCKS (which my feet really appreciated). There's a nice boat loading dock. Plenty of parking. Didn't get to explore - but seen there were a handful of trails attached to the park (next time). Looking forward to camping here again in the future! The park ranger Tammi (Tammi with an "i") was super nice and gave us some informative literature of the area! For firewood - we will pass along the info she gave to us = visit the farmers market in Ventura on Saturday mornings, where you can get a big bundle of nice oak wood for only $5!

Great park right on Clear Lake! Park is a little small. Has a decent hiking trail for a short walk. Plenty of picnic benches and lake access. Great bird viewing spot. Camp ground is well kept and has plenty of RV and tent spots with a restroom and showers.

I preferred McIntosh Woods to Clear Lake State Park as it feels like a more natural setting. Nice boat ramp and a well maintained beach with a playground.

You can call but most of them book up fast. Otherwise they sometimes have some open just for walk-ins
I believe there are just two sites where you can pull through (17 & 42).
Availability, pricing,, and reservations are available here: https://iowastateparks.reserveamerica.com/campsiteFilterAction.do?sitefilter=Yurts&startIdx=0&contractCode=IA&parkId=610112
You can reserve them on website. Think they sleep 6 & a're $35
Yes, 2.
That I am not sure
Campers may camp up to 14 consecutive nights in a state park/recreation area. Campers must then vacate the park (including removing the camping unit) for a minimum of 3 nights before camping in that park again. Thanks!
