Always love our visits to FD Roosevelt!! Beautiful hiking trails. Pine Mountain Trail is awesome. 23 miles with plenty of back country sites to camp along the way. Stop by the visitors center, the staff and Rangers are extremely helpful and friendly. The main campground is also very good. Clean comfort stations and big, spread out campsites. Very well maintained.

Great place to bring the family. Cabins are very comfortable and provide all of the basics needed for hosting a family of 6 over night easily. Large, screened porch with four rocking chairs was the winner for my family. We spent many a night in the darkness while listening to all the creatures the lake had to offer. Our site included a fire pit and lake shore access.

Second time we've come here. It's the best. Especially summer the weather wasn't too bad and the amenities were as good or better than we expected. We tint camped and found it rather enjoyable.

FDR State Park- we hiked the Pine Mt. Trail (out and back) to Cascade Falls. This was a beautiful hike! My husband and I went with our teenagers. We spent about 3 hrs, hiked 4.5 miles, took a picnic lunch with us. You cross the water over stepping stones quite a few times through this hike. We wore waterproof hiking boots, so we never got wet. They have bridges and wooden planks you walk along in certain areas of the hike. It was fun and pretty easy to cross. They have a well established trail along the way. There are a few spots where the ascent can be tiring, but they have some benches along the way, which is really nice. The waterfall at the end of the hike is beautiful and relaxing. Great hike! There was a 720 ft ascent total I tracked during this hike, and I burned 800 cals! Good workout :) Our family enjoyed this hike. We will definitely be coming back and may check out the back trails campsites they have here next time. Just FYI there are no bathrooms here at all, just a map, a few picnic tables and a trash can area in the parking lot.

Yes. Verizon service worked great while we where there.
Awe the park will be closed for a week?
They are located in the bathhouse between the men's and women's restroom, bring quarters :)
Some sites have easy acces at their spot for gray water. None for sewage directly at designated site but there is a dumping station.
Roads to campground good. Roads in campground are horrible, curvy, hilly, narrow, and steep drop offs
We stayed in Cabin #7. It was one of the premier cottages. It was 2br 1 bath. It slept 6 of us. There is a sofa bed in the living room. It was really nice and worth it. The park is beautiful. They do have new renovations going on at the front of the park. We loved it. The visitors center is at the top of the mountain with a beautiful view. We do plan on going back. If you go to the website and click on cottages, it will give pictures of each cottage.
Sorry can't help. Contact State Park for info.
101 will fit 40 footer I believe you would have to get there during the week to secure it
I had no problem with my AT&T reception. No wifi, I use my mobile data.
No i don't think you can camp in the cabin area
No they do not. But cell reception was at least 4 bars.
It's because it helps support the running and upkeep of the park, all GA State Parks are $5.00 a day or play it smart and get a yearly pass. If you become a supporter, you get free camping, shelter, and more, check that option out too
They have plenty of them
Pine Mountain, the town is about 3 miles away which has several restaurants. There is a restaurant at Callaway also which is 8-9 miles away.
Most probably in the wilderness area. I have seen then in spaces where residents are park and where there for day. use.
Yes
If you stay for a long period of time you need a day pass...its only 5$
I'm not sure. I'd call and check.
Beautiful Park! There are some astonishing views to have as a wedding setting but I am not too sure about their wedding planning policies and would suggest calling the Park office. Make sure you have a detailed setup because if you forget anything...there is absolutely nothing anywhere close and limited to what you can find. Hope this helps and good luck with the wedding planning!
Yes, beautiful shady sites. Check on their construction, as they are updating some sites and adding another bathhouse. We camped there a few weeks ago, noise from construction wasn't bad at all.
30 per night
Which trail? Pine Mountain Trail? Generally speaking, a rough estimate of hiking speed is 2 miles per hour. So, whatever trail you are looking at, divide the miles by 2 and that's a rough idea of how many hours it will take to hike.
When I search for "Pets Allowed", no cabins come up. However there might be an exception if the animal is a service dog. I would call and ask.
Sketchy at best. In to of the mountain probably, if you're camping or hiking, I wouldn't count on it.
I don't think it is allowed in park on any road. Probably should call park office and check with them.
FDR is a popular park so reserving a camp site on the state park web site is a good idea. Also, web site has lots of useful information like maps of camp sites, trails, etc..
South of park. South side of 190. It is not inside the park like many stations.
Not that I'm aware of, but you're welcome to take your dog on a leash as far as I know.
Call thier office
You have to call and find out. I'm sorry couldn't be more help.
Yes they have pets accommodation cabins etc
Yes, there are cabins near the trails but they stay booked. Best to call and check well in advance.
The check in is at the park office. 2970 GA-190, Pine Mountain, GA 31822 They don't have rv parking areas there, so be careful.
Yes. There are several picnic areas with grills at the pool.
I don't think so. Did not see any while there
Jennifer Wright, upon Googling, it says that it closes at 6pm. I didn't further investigate the cost. In addition to the per person charge to swim, I know there is a $5 state park parking fee for each car. vans with 15 passengers cost more. You may gain most information from calling Franklin D Roosevelt State park
Depends on which campsite, an on if you want to walk, bike or go by car.
The best place to find this information is on the website or call them directly.
Yea I would call .. depends how busy they get ..
No swimming just paddle and fish
If I'm not mistaking its 30.00 a night or 210.00 a week. Hop this helps
Yes, Cabins have TV and DISH network reception. We stay there 3-4 times a year.
Look on the website or call the office depends on how many people are with you .how many nights and if you have pets ..
They have fire rings at each site and sell firewood in the campground.
Some of them are. Go to the reservation site for details.
I think you can get a view of the whole campground in sections. So peaceful and picturesque. May call an ask for info. Better yet, before your desired camping date, come and take a tour if possible. Hope This helps
